Spent the Day in Bed - the perfect song for the Corona virus

I was in Argentina last month (well February). It seems like a lifetime ago now. I went to Buenos Aires and saw Racing Club vs Independiete football match, the Iguaza waterfalls, Mendoza wine region and Salta. Loved Argentina and I didnt think it was third world at all! I hope to return one day...

    Morrissey and Jobriath: Telegraph 01/04/2020

    Fascinating. Thanks for posting

    Rank the tracks on IANADOAC

For me this is one of his stronger ‘bookended’ albums for a long long time. Still won’t buy it though.

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

Well against my better judgment and listening on some top notch headphones I declare this album “very good”. My favourite tracks, in no particular order, are Once I Saw The River Clean, Ny Hurling Days Are Adobe, Jim Jim Falls and I Am Not A Dog On A Chain.

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

Have to agree with the element of humour- something which has been somewhat lacking in recent releases (imo) Funny lines and funny delivery too. Only listened once and thought there were some standout tracks and some Morrissey-by-numbers songs too but all in all surprisingly good (perhaps he is...

    The title track is hilarious

IANADOAC reviews - Associated Press, The Post Millenial

There is no misinterpretation about wearing a fucking For Britain badge on an American TV show. Or saying people ultimately prefer their own race. Or lying about newspaper interviews with German journalists. I will concede there is possibility he has doen all this to provoke a reaction and to...

IANADOAC reviews - Associated Press, The Post Millenial

"Another standout is the album’s title track. “I Am not a Dog on a Chain” is a rollicking tune reminiscent of “Journalists who Lie”." That's a back-handed compliment if ever there was one.... I am actually looking forward to listening to this. If it's his best original solo work since ROTT (as...

Morrissey Central "And In The End" (March 16, 2020)

Way to go Morrissey. Personally as a keyworker I think I'm being responsible by limiting my contact with the outside world but I can live with you thinking I am a Dog On A Chain. Much like you can probably live without me purchasing a copy of your new album.

    Leeds - First Direct Arena (Mar. 6, 2020) post-show

Yes I too thought Birmingham was dull. But I was sitting, sober and the arena is far too big. I did enjoy Brighton (smaller venue) and London Palladium (one of the best gigs I've been to) far more. So hopefully Morrissey may get the message and try to so smaller venues in the UK in future...

PJ Harvey, Franz Ferdinand and Anna Calvi spring to mind as his better support acts in the last 20 years. All seemingly for just one or two gigs. Cant imagine anyone would be willing to support him in the UK now due to his toxic brand. Well maybe Skrewdriver and Half a Shilling from Phoenix...

The dreadful state of UK ticket sales

I guess this comment will be lost in the ethers of the interwebs but Im a long-standing UK fan who cannot excuse his tourette-like outbursts. Years ago I would have been ready with a military-like operation to get tickets on the day of release (eg 11 years ago - the 50th birthday gig) On top of...

Morrissey to play at the Cruel World Festival (Carson, CA, May 2, 2020)

I look forward to seeing Morrissey at a "Rock the 80s" festival in the UK very soon... Jason Donovan, Belinda Carliale, T'Pau and Morrissey. What a line-up. And a lot of Tories in the crowd. Bliss.

Official YouTube "Love Is On Its Way Out" & instant grat MP3 released (January 31, 2020)

I got as far as a minute in.... the lyrical inkwell has run dry. Journalists Who Lie was a truly terrible song (which this reminds me of) but compared to this it is Beethoven.

Morrissey announces European & UK 2020 tour dates (Leeds, Cologne, Paris, London on sale Jan. 24)

Someone quoted above you £95 for Leeds standing. I wouldn't be surprised either... Simple Minds, Crowded House and Pet Shop Boys all charging similar for arena gigs. At least Nick Cave and Paul Heaton are keeping their arena gigs relatively affordable

Morrissey announces European & UK 2020 tour dates (Leeds, Cologne, Paris, London on sale Jan. 24)

Arena shows have gone stratospheric in their costs but £100 to see Morrissey is taking the piss. Whats the show going to feature for that price, dancing blacked-up midgets in cages? I'm sure 2018 arena tickets were in the region of £50 to £60 - which was bad enough imho.. These UK gigs will not...

Morrissey announces European & UK 2020 tour dates (Leeds, Cologne, Paris, London on sale Jan. 24)

Hi Johan, nice to see you're still lurking here. ;) I would have been tempted by Cologne back in the (not-so) old days as it's a great city but I can't justify travelling to see Morrissey to myself, my cat, my partner or seemingly my bank manager.
