    Rank Morrissey's 21st century LPs

Quarry Ringleader LIHS World Peace Refusal Dog If we're throwing California Son in, it'd probably be tied with - maybe above World Peace. I like a number of the tracks on World Peace individually, but for me the flow of the songs/overall energy of the album is much stronger on the albums above it.

One single, two sides, for life - which two songs do you pick?

I'm saying if I had to make the "for life" choice right now, I'd pick those. If the choice was given to me in a month's time, I might choose something different. But today it's those two.

One single, two sides, for life - which two songs do you pick?

Right now? "Let Me Kiss You" / "Such A Little Thing Makes Such A Big Difference." Something romantic and something playful.

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

You said you wanted to interpret your own meanings from Morrissey songs. There's nothing really to interpret from "have you seen the sad rich hunting down, shooting down elephants and lions." It's pretty cut-and-dry. It's about human violence toward animals. So is "The Bullfighter Dies." In...

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

I didn't say I want Morrissey to explain his songs. I'm saying that based on things like "Love Is On Its Way Out," one could easily argue that there's not much beyond the surface for a lot of these.

    "I Am Not A Dog On A Chain" released (March 20, 2020)

I'm not saying your interpretation doesn't fit. I'm just doubting Morrissey premeditated it. His lyrical process seems to fall into a formula these days: Talk about love, falling in love, the one you love. Talk about singing, the voice. The most thinly-veiled reference to a sex act known to...

    IANADOAC - singles?

Valerie Pearson reports Morrissey as being: "Inconsolable. The heart is at death's door." Or some shit.

    IANADOAC - singles?

I am hoping I can count on our usual savior FWD to come through on this, but I believe in the first interview in which Morrissey mentioned a follow-up to California Son that it would be a 12-track album. So there's got to be at least one more track, right?

    13 Morrissey studio albums ranking

I hate to say it, but Dog on A Chain is my least favorite thing he's ever done. Good for people who are getting something out of it. It's just not for me.

IANADOAC - lyrics discussion thread (now with added lyrics!)

John from "I Bury the Living." Funny how the war goes on without our John? Because he's Ruth now.
