“He has no reason to complain” - Simpsons writer Tim Long talks Morrissey to the Toronto Star

Not true. Although the law in the USA and the UK is different in this area - the law in the UK is much more in favour of the libelled, where there is no constitution and first amendment. Whilst satire is generally protected in the USA under the first amendment - it all depends on your definition...

“He has no reason to complain” - Simpsons writer Tim Long talks Morrissey to the Toronto Star

Total bollocks - they created a fake character called Quilloughby who is close enough to Morrissey to chuck their mud, but far enough to avoid a lawsuit. Any lawyer would have advised Moz he wouldn't stand a chance of suing. It's why the behaviour of these so called 'writers' is so thoroughly...

Morrissey Central "YOU’RE THAT STRETCH OF THE BEACH THAT THE TIDE DOESN’T REACH" (July 9, 2021)

Lovejoy? That's a BBC drama series starring Ian McShane. Would agree with most of that - although would give Staircase 10/10 and Julie probably 5/10. It surprises me that some people seem to rate Smiler so highly. That song has always made me reach for the skip button. Interesting lyrically but...

Morrissey Central "YOU’RE THAT STRETCH OF THE BEACH THAT THE TIDE DOESN’T REACH" (July 9, 2021)

For me it was Years of Refusal. Have always felt that was the low point in his discography. But I agree - World Peace came as a welcome return to form. Was worried that Low in High School suggested World Peace was something of an outlier in his more recent work, as I have never rated that album...

The reaction to a song is such an individual experience - I love Mountjoy. Brought a tear to my eye when I first heard it. Maybe it's an Irish thing?

World Peace is a good album with some outstanding tracks - but I was a surprised he named that above Dog, which is a much better album and one of his best. Love California Son too. Obviously we're all yet to hear Bonfire - but it sounds very promising from the recent interview.

"Morrissey vs the Conformist Cult" By Anything Goes (Paul Joseph Watson)

Yes, you are right Hovis - but you can't beat a bit of light sarcasm first thing in the morning - it's good for the circulation

"Morrissey vs the Conformist Cult" By Anything Goes (Paul Joseph Watson)

Joyce was 18 when Wilde died. No they never met. But as a young man aspiring to be a famous writer he obviously grew up in Wilde's shadow. And maybe what he wrote about Wilde was his way of standing out of that shadow and finding his own voice? You seem a bit touchy on the subject of Wilde's...

"Morrissey vs the Conformist Cult" By Anything Goes (Paul Joseph Watson)

Have adored Oscar Wilde since I was a child. The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of my favourite novels. I think what Joyce was pointing out though are the contradictions in the man - which are obvious for all to see. He was a man of paradoxes. Joyce was virulently anti-clerical and hated the...

"Morrissey vs the Conformist Cult" By Anything Goes (Paul Joseph Watson)

James Joyce thought that Wilde sold out by asking for the last rites on his death bed. He was delirious though and when you've written The Importance of Being Earnest I think we can forgive him almost anything. Voltaire had the right idea. On his deathbed he was asked by a priest if he was ready...

"Morrissey vs the Conformist Cult" By Anything Goes (Paul Joseph Watson)

How many people infected by the virus is irrelevant - we are walking reservoirs of bacteria and viruses from childhood to old age. And then the 4 million deaths worldwide figure that you quote - about 2/3 would have died anyway as they were elderly with co-morbidities (millions of people die...

"Morrissey vs the Conformist Cult" By Anything Goes (Paul Joseph Watson)

Yes, I understand, Karen. There is no thought more overwhelming than the thought that we are all alone in the universe and are free to think for ourselves. It's terrifying. We are condemned to be free. The history of humanity is basically the creation of religions and ideologies as a defence...

Save him your pity and sympathy. Moz will be just fine. Free your mind, Karen, and think for yourself. Leave the socialist script in the bin. It's very liberating.

Yep, we are all well house-trained - we are just not supposed to talk about things like that. The subject is verboten.

Depends what you mean by 'trans rights'? And whether you think they are more important than 'women's rights'? I think Moz would agree with Germaine. Gender roles are bull shit. Live however you like. Be whomever you want. Dress how you want to dress. Use whatever pronouns make you feel you. But...
