Random question, but whatever happened to superfan of yesteryear Julia Riley? Did she tune out when Morrissey's tune changed, or just lost interest, or what? No convoluted joke answers, por favor.

Took a while after Quarry was released to really love this song, but it's a superlative album track. Very cinematic. I actually think it's the most Vauxhall-eseque track on there.

Alain is such a nice guy he'd probably do them! Still can't forget him being relegated to drums in the In the Future video...

I think he sings in this higher register much better than some of the other vids he's posted. Alain's not trained as a singer but did some stunning backing vocals for Moz, come on.

Nice to hear the word "laserdisc" mentioned. The sound was very good (better than later DVD). I was never able to find production details for LiD but being the US I assume it was at least shot on Betacam SP. If this Youtube release was any different than everything before I'd be shocked, but...

That's how I understood it. Quarry beats it, Dog in 2nd, very closely followed by Ringleader (for me). High School, World Peace and Years are all quite different yet near in terms of album power. Voted for since Quarry, and see that it's the majority. It really is a great album. Ringleader produced some great b-sides (Ganglord, Christian Dior, If You Don't Like Me... which is being played on the current tour) but as far as the album proper I feel I Am Not a Dog on a Chain is stronger.
