Morrissey: Honey You Know Where To Find Me 12" for RSD, April 18, 2020

Interesting — and a great song. This would be the first Morrissey 12" single since... 2004? Or earlier? Anyone recall which was the last one?

"Knockabout World" released on YouTube / streaming platforms (Feb. 21, 2020)

Agreed 100%. "You're ok by me" is pretty much an explicit statement of what many of us have always felt when listening to Morrissey -- that we are and will be ok. It's why I love him and will never part with him. Viva Moz! Can't wait to see him again.

Morrissey to play at the Cruel World Festival (Carson, CA, May 2, 2020)

Not at all. You should go! While there will be young people there a good portion of the audience will likely be in their late 40s and 50s, given the line up. Stay young at heart and buy a ticket!

Damon Albarn on Morrissey's politics - NME

"If you don’t live in the country, then you shouldn’t be dabbling in its politics." This is an absurd statement. Morrissey is still a citizen of the UK, wherever he resides. Remember how in recent close elections in the U.S., you've read about results awaiting the arrival of "overseas" (not...

    "Produced by" The Smiths

Very broadly speaking, it means the song was mixed by the band. IE, once all the tracks are recorded, the levels of the instruments are mixed together, and the final sound of each instrument/voice is established (for example, adding reverb to a vocal or guitar). "Engineered by" (again broadly...

Songs that influenced The Smiths & Morrissey compilation (MP3)

Thanks FWD! To be more specific re: Jumpin' Jack Flash: "Guitarist Johnny Marr told Guitar Player that this was The Smiths' answer to The Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash": "With 'Bigmouth Strikes Again', I was trying to write my 'Jumpin' Jack Flash.' I wanted something that was a rush all...
