Morrissey's 1976 review Of The Ramones in Melody Maker on eBay

Re: Morrissey's 1976 Review Of The Ramones I don't know (or want to know) how old you are, but do remember he was barely 17 when he wrote that. Do you still love the things you did 10 or 15 years ago (to pick some arbitrary dates)?

Johnny Marr interview at askmeaskmeaskme (3 parts); to join Bryan Ferry in concert and on new album

Apparently he did write quite a few songs with Matt Johnson during those sessions but only one track made it onto the album.

New Morrissey interview on Greek website LiFO (July 4, 2012)

But it doesn't really work like that. There's no 'positivity versus negativity' scale where one day it leans on the positive side and the next day on the negative side. Lets say you visit your favourite restaurant. 9 of the 10 waiters are friendly and nice but a last one makes snide jokes...

New Morrissey interview on Greek website LiFO (July 4, 2012)

I'm not referring to "less than congratulatory" opinions... I'm not even referring to healthy constructive criticism. For the most part I enjoy the discussions and differing opinions but what I don't like is reading abusive posts.

New Morrissey interview on Greek website LiFO (July 4, 2012)

I'm not really arguing this point... It's David's site and he is, of course, free to run it as he wants. I just find it a bit intellectually dishonest to claim that it's not a negative place.

New Morrissey interview on Greek website LiFO (July 4, 2012)

So what is the point of banning someone, or even having ToS, if you can come back and post the same thing anonymously? Fallacious slippery slope argument.

New Morrissey interview on Greek website LiFO (July 4, 2012)

If you really think having the band come on here and post retorts is more reasonable than deleting the comments in the first place then you appear to lost all perspective.

New Morrissey interview on Greek website LiFO (July 4, 2012)

Re: Morrisseys' new interview in greek website 4.7.2012 But David, according to his own comments, did enter a negotiation and Merck decided not to go forward with the talks, not the other way around.

New Morrissey interview on Greek website LiFO (July 4, 2012)

I would bet money that it's not the stories that bother Morrissey but the lack of moderation on comments. For example, telling him to go and kill himself. Wishing that Jessie Tobias has both his arms broken so he can never play guitar again. "Amusing" comments about Boz's weight. It's gone...

Advert for Best I and Best II

back when Best I and Best II were released, I seem to remember a full page advert in the music press with words to the effect that despite all their success and sales U2 would never be as good as The Smiths Does anyone have the full text? I don't need a scan, just the text and a source would...

"This Night Has Opened My Eyes" in 10 Most Depressing Songs Ever- NME blog

Re: Article: "This Night Has Opened My Eyes" in 10 Most Depressing Songs Ever- NME bl I think the compilers of the "logical fallacy" encyclopedia might have to update their section on "straw men" after reading your post. They may as well just link directly to it.

"This Night Has Opened My Eyes" in 10 Most Depressing Songs Ever- NME blog

Re: Article: "This Night Has Opened My Eyes" in 10 Most Depressing Songs Ever- NME bl Unsurprisingly, the NME completely miss the magnificent 'giving birth' metaphor in the open couple of lines and go for the literal river/infanticide version :-/
