Morrissey "likely" to be on Jonathan Ross's chat show soon, according to @wossy tweet

Jesus, you're still bellyaching? And still claiming WPINOYB lacks melody? Now that's some bollocks. Okay, you're over Morrissey, don't like him personally anymore, can't even stand Smiths songs now because you hate him so much, but fer f***'s sake, quit pretending the album doesn't have...

Please Close The Door Behind Me - Morrissey statement at TTY

Very eloquent letter from Morrissey. I hope the YouTube videos have helped him realize that traditional record companies are obsolete when it comes to his needs. So often people have called The Smiths the ultimate indie band. It's time Morrissey revels in his independent outsider status...

Morrissey and his links to paedophiles? - thecolemanexperience

Re: Morrissey and his links to paedophiles? I never thought DavidT ever did a single objectionable thing on this site until today, and I have been reading it for so many years I can't even remember when I started. This is crossing a line. This is giving credibility to incoherent raving...

Morrissey and his links to paedophiles? - thecolemanexperience

Re: Morrissey and his links to paedophiles? Wow, today the "SoLow" comment actually fits. What complete trash. p.s. My comment is here but I posted it because this actually showed up on the front page! DavidT, this is a blemish on your reputation, and I've always been sympathetic to you.

Harvest ends contract with Morrissey - TTY

The greatest tragedy of this isn't that we won't hear Moz again. We will. It's the bloody Smiths reunion chatter. Won't ever happen, shouldn't ever happen. Just please stop. Morrissey sings the songs in concert, that's what you get, if you get it. Johnny can sing passably and still...

Why so many negative references to fat people when he is not thin?

I'm fifteen years younger and I wish I looked that good with my shirt off.

"World Peace..." reviews (Independent.ie, FasterLouder, Seattle Music Insider, Globes, Divirta-se)

"0 out of 10" = "I'm an incredible pretentious asshole." Not worth a click, it would be a better use of my time to throw eggs in a lake. Like the other poster, nothing could be a greater vindication of Morrissey's rejuvenation.

What, if anything, would you change about the new album?

Re: What, if anything, Would youchange about the new album? I like the idea of making Earth is the Loneliest Planet the title. To whit, I'd make it track one. Make World Peace a b-side. Then I'd make Neal Cassady a b-side. Add Drag the River and Forgive Someone in the first half. Lop off...

Killjoy, spoilers, rampant speculation, beware, use caution. Which track on the album is weakest?

Re: Killjoy, spoilers, rampant speculation, beware, use caution. Which track on the album is weakes Heh, Smiler With Knife blew my mind with its greatness the first time I heard it. Possibly my favorite song on the entire album, and that's saying a lot. But the oddness that gives it charm...

"World Peace..." reviews (Manchester Evening News, Paste, Asbury Park Press, RTÉ, Knoxville.com)

Re: Article: "World Peace..." reviews (Manchester Evening News, Paste, Asbury Park Press, RTÉ, Knoxv Many lovely reviews there. This album gets played every day at least once and entrances me every time. Such a high bar for the next album to have to reach!

How different would the negative reviews be if they addressed the Deluxe version?

First of all, I just have to say, I can't believe my bafflement at reading some of the more negative reviews of World Peace. Almost every track is either listed as a highlight and one of Morrissey's best, or one of his worst. Istanbul is declared the only song on the album worth saving...

"World Peace..." review by Marc Hogan - Pitchfork

When critics are divided, the artist is in accord with himself, to paraphrase Wilde. Moz didn't play it very safe this time, yet all Pitchfork can think to say about something like Smiler with Knife is that it glorifies ruffians. The gap between the negativity spouted against this album and...

"World Peace..." reviews (by Luke Haines - The Talkhouse, The Scotsman, Musik Express, GA-Bonn)

Oh, they have their charms, but most Morrissey songs do. They just don't drive me wild with excitement like the rest of the album.

"World Peace..." reviews (by Luke Haines - The Talkhouse, The Scotsman, Musik Express, GA-Bonn)

As far as I'm concerned, "I'm Not a Man" is when the real album begins. If there's a reason people won't dare consider this album to be better than Vauxhall, it might just have something to do with the fact that Vauxhall starts off with two of the best f'ing Morrissey songs of all time...

"World Peace Is None of Your Business" Reviews

I've been noticing your rants against Moz and the new album, but this may be the most c***ish of all. You can't be serious, which has nothing to do with whether or not you're trying to be serious. There are few rules to be imposed in poetry, and you declaring that one can't put a little flair...

Re: Article: "World Peace..." reviews (musicOMH, The National, Toronto Sun, The Arts Desk, The Upcom Overall the reviews have been highly positive and recognize this album as being something special in the Morrissey canon, at least as good as Quarry and hearkening back to the immortal Vauxhall...

"World Peace..." review by Alexis Petridis (4/5 stars) - The Guardian

Look, I've felt the pangs also, but it's safe to admit that one still likes his previous albums while declaring WPINOYB to be a unique triumph in his catalogue. "All You Need Is Me" and "Life is a Pigsty" will always be successes, but those albums required some repeated listening and some...

Morrissey's new album 'a stunning career high' review by Eamon Carr - Irish Independent

Oh, certainly. I'm Not a Man Staircase at the University The Bullfighter Dies Smiler with Knife Earth is the Loneliest Planet Mountjoy Oboe Concerto Scandinavia Art Hounds You said "of the calibre". I'm not dismissing those three songs or even saying they're lesser, as they're...

Morrissey's new album 'a stunning career high' review by Eamon Carr - Irish Independent

FOUR times and you can't hum a tune from it? I can't stop every tune from playing in my head constantly, and that was since the second listen (album proper, quite a few of those b-sides took more time to sort the melodies out, but after half a dozen listens I've got them in my head too)...
