Portishead is great! Everything with them is just so tastefully done. The live album they released which was recorded in NYC is outstanding!

Thanks for posting that great live clip too. :D Alain and Jesse played well together. Also, Buckley added some excellent touches during the planet's core part of the chorus, which I like very much.

That song is a real beauty! I've always loved it.

Most of us adults - especially responsible adults, we find ourselves alone in that boat - weathering the storm in the darkness (as in the third painting). Keep your spirits up.

Agreed about life and love. People talk about 'God' as this separate entity, but I think God is in our abilities to love and give. Mind you, giving also relates to personal effort, motivation, performance - not just being generous to others. This is for you. An artist like yourself...

They could very well be using an internet translator, most likely another language translated into English. Those translators (like Google's) are pretty good in general - to point you in the right direction - but in many instances, unless it's a very simple/short sentence, it can give you...

You betcha! Kinship with other Morrissey fans - straight from the gate. It's a thing. :D

I don't have insomnia, but I do understand being 'locked' into your own circumstances/dilemma with nobody to relate to or share with. What troubled feelings you must have. It's like sunburn on top of sunburn. I very much wish you the best here, and I hope the solution for your troubles...

The Deluxe Maladjusted is terrific. He's a great artist, and none of his LPs have been bad. Some have been great, many good. I think his vocals sound better on Quarry - could just be the way they were recorded. Also, Maladjusted has Sorrow Will Come and Ambitious Outsiders, which to me...

I think Ringleader is on par with Quarry.

Well, it's better than Maladjusted - and after the several year gap between those two LPs, I can possibly see why Quarry is considered 'great' (for the year it was released also). It's not my least favorite LP of his, but it's 'in the middle'.

Right on! Their early material especially rocks. The band is still together today, not the exact original lineup, but they aren't a 'tribute band' by any means. It makes sense to me that you would be into them. Just from what I've read from you, I can tell you've got good taste in the...

What song are you listening to right now?

One of the gems on SOFAD, and it's the last track. The vocals on the 'I surrender...' part are just so beautiful - so typical of DM pre-1995 when you had three really good vocalists in the group.

What song are you listening to right now?

Both really nice tracks! Spent the Day is one of Morrissey's best ever singles, I think. Get A Job is just great. I really miss some of those older songs because I don't catch them that often anymore. You know what also is a great older track? 'Woman, Woman' by Gary Puckett.

What song are you listening to right now?

It's certainly debatable :) Just like 'the gull of your dreams' - goes so well with SG's psuedo-nautical feel (think about it). :D

What song are you listening to right now?

Southpaw is a gem in the collection. One of my top favorites from him, and the best song on the interesting SG, I think. The first verse says it all really. When he sings 'I don't see the joy', he literally means the joy of youth ---what most of us 'saw' before we could really see (and then...
