The Lazy Sunbathers / Climate Change

Thanks for posting that great live clip too. :D Alain and Jesse played well together. Also, Buckley added some excellent touches during the planet's core part of the chorus, which I like very much.

Brendan Buckley - black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (September 25, 2023)

He tested for it in Los Angeles, that surprises me a little. How several of the martial arts are - you have to travel to the home of the sport's origin (and be judged by masters of it) to test for and receive your black belt. Good for him. That explains a lot about the guy. Since he's been...

That song is a real beauty! I've always loved it.

Johnny Marr releases The Best of

Well, that was Johnny Marr & The Healers, though maybe in 10-20 years there will be a true Marr greatest hits which features Smiths, Electronic, possible Healers/Song w/B. Duffy/Zimmer stuff and Marr solo songs. I've seen that in a few artists' 'best of' collections. Boomslang had some great...

Johnny Marr releases The Best of

Yep. Three great examples of Johnny (solo) at his BEST, omitted from this list. Who's coming up with this stuff?

Johnny Marr releases The Best of

No 'I Want The Heartbeat' or 'European Me' - both could've easily been on this list. I always wonder about the 'selection process' with these kind of releases.

Factory International: "A night with The Johnny Marr Orchestra" (on December 7-8, 2023)

Thanks! I don't think anyone else has heard that story before too, at least not from me. I am happy you liked it :D PT&Autos is pretty amazing with Steve Martin and Candy together. The two of them driving the car that was literally burnt down to the frame is timeless, that whole sequence of...

Factory International: "A night with The Johnny Marr Orchestra" (on December 7-8, 2023)

Very true. Marr rocks! The best jingler who ever jangled! He's also quite short. I stood right next to both him and Zak Starkey and towered over them. Contrary to the opinions/perspectives you may read about this comment, I do not play in the NBA, or the WNBA (even though that would be...

Factory International: "A night with The Johnny Marr Orchestra" (on December 7-8, 2023)

One of my favorites! The scene where they arrive in frigid Calgary is priceless. I love the practice sled they got to use too. :) I also liked how the whole hometown rallied behind the team, and all watched the events together at the local bar. John Candy was wonderful. Uncle Buck, The...

Morrissey Central "Mexico City" - dengue infection will take 2-3 weeks to clear; tour to resume in Florida (September 10, 2023)

Well said! Honestly, visitors to the tropics have a 50/50 chance in dodging something like dengue fever, whereas the locals still get it but the odds are way lower. I can easily believe that this is real. I think Morrissey will be fine. He can get some rest as well.

Factory International: "A night with The Johnny Marr Orchestra" (on December 7-8, 2023)

Thanks for the update! Marr is a top musician and composer - this will sound great!

Morrissey Central "Mexico City" - dengue infection will take 2-3 weeks to clear; tour to resume in Florida (September 10, 2023)

Terrible news, but there's always a risk of these things happening for visitors to tropical climates. I hope all improves much sooner than later. (y)

Dave Haslam speaks out against the cancellation of Roisin Murphy

Well, I DID just hear 'School's Out' on the radio this morning! :D So, there's hope yet!

Morrissey sighting: Garbage concert (September 4, 2023)

He certainly may have been in attendance, but not performing with them. Butch Vig (who is 68) is drumming for this tour. It was cool to see that Juan and Brendan were there, as Morrissey's guests. He certainly doesn't make his band members feel like 'paid studio musicians'.

    The Cure debut new songs

Also, listen to Boys Don't Cry LP (US release), from before they used keyboards. There are some excellent songs on that, and it's very accessible for non-fans. That's a good one to start with too. You'll get an understanding of how good of a songwriter Robert was in the early days, and...

    boz being cheeky on fb

Boz does look a bit older there. It probably is from a year or two before the Quarry comeback. Though, I can see how Morrissey's haircut makes somebody think the pic's from the Southpaw era.
