I haven't heard anything about this but they claim to be reporters 'for a national magazine and are doing a piece and a doc simultaneously' and that they are 'very serious'. Here's the request: "Serious Smiths Fans In NYC And L.A. Area Wanted For Documentary!"

This cannot be serious can it? Why don't you try putting their feelings ahead of your own. This is as pathetic as it is outragous. The documentary, maybe you could convince me of it's legitimacy, but the petition is laughable and rather intrusive. YOU'RE the one who is going to tell Morrissey/Marr to reunite? By way of a petition? And what is the argument or reasoning behind it? The greater good of mankind? Please leave them alone to deal with their own business and feelings which you or I could even possibly begin to comprehend. Thank you and see you at Club Rio...

Please sign the petition. We could use some exposure and cash. Please, Please, Please, let us get what we want!!!

Urrgh. And I thought *I* was obsessed!!! Yes, I think it would be wonderful if The Smiths reunited, or if at least Johnny Marr and Morrissey teamed up again. But don't get your hopes up, and don't pressure them! They'll do what they want with their own careers. If Moz and Marr decide never to work with each other again, well, that's their decision (and their and our loss). I do feel that they both are being extremely stubborn and that they should "bury the hatchet." But if they're happy with their careers as they are now, then let's just forget about any possibility of a reunion happening, but be pleasantly surprised if by some fluke it does happen. Remember The Smiths for the brilliant and wonderful band that they were. THE SMITHS WILL NEVER DIE!!!

As for Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce working with them...well, if the things I've read that Morrissey has said about them (like all this "lawnmower part" crap) are true, I'm surprised that they still think as highly of Morrissey as they do. If I were them and had things like that said about me, I'd never speak to him again...

What's the matter with those two people? Have they gone totally insane?

They're sending a PETITION? If you received a petition to do anything in life that you had no interest in doing, would you do it? I think the very thought of it would irritate either one of them (Moz & Marr). Does anyone recall what Johnny said about Smiths fans who constantly dogged him about leaving the band? I can't remember what year it was but I believe it was just a couple or so after he left. Apparently these two "film makers" never read that bit. Or, they're just mental and they don't care about anyone else's feelings or needs.

I've read some pretty stupid things in my life but this has got to be the worst. Even if it works, the idea is so preposterous it's not even funny. @#!!!ing Americans...
