Has this been mentioned? Faked up Portugese picture sleeve, like the two Kraftwerk ones from the same seller.
I realise there was this recent mass leak of the CDR set from Warners, however what I said generally applied until that point. That Rubber Ring from 8 years ago sounds like it was sourced from a cassette, though listening to it again I reckon it's a completely different demo rather than an...
You know the stuff that leaks will tend to be unfinished versions run onto cassette at the studio for the band members to listen to overnight or whatever, not necessarily the 'final' mix from the session.
It is a genuine Warners product, it's still on their wholesale database under that barcode and catalogue number.
I've no idea about the how and why some got out early though, nor if it will actually be released. Wait until RSD releases are announced, that's the most likely avenue for it to come...
I didn't suggest anything to do with stickers, so no idea what you're saying. I did suggest the cut is 2016 and the sleeve suggests a 2017 release. I can't explain that except that it may have been postponed in 2016 at test pressing stage, then later resurrected and (slightly redesigned) sleeves...
The big clue in the runout info is the BG number as that tells me that it's been pressed at Optimal in Germany. They are one of the biggest in the world and used by Warners for most of their releases. Also, you wouldn't get far trying to slip a bootleg through there.
My guess is that it was cut...

There's one here at EIL, much cheaper (and they're known for being pricey).
To be honest they're just a lump of metal that could be for a pressing by anyone, you'd have to look very closely to spot the runout info (reversed too). Spending...
I was at the Blackburn Ikon& showing, the Smiths bit was definitely from the 24th November gig, last song of the night and the second time they'd played Hand In Glove that evening.
Another track from the same show was on the reel of Hacienda footage showing in rotation at the fairly recent...
As others have said it's a Universal Publishing promo and very similar to the Joy Division one from couple of years back. Very few will be in circulation.
I think they use whatever's around. I can tell you that what may seem to be white labels are sometimes the unprinted backs of printed labels by other artists, they've just loaded them upside down to use the white side.
that sounds about right.
Porky's is at 55 Shaftesbury Avenue and I've had a couple of cuts done there. I think Rough Trade probably used Townhouse too though I haven't got my Smiths stuff to hand to have a look.
When I used Mayking they were getting pressings done by MPO, which is why I used...
