Morrissey Central "TROUBLE LOVES ME" (April 3, 2021)

It's just as likely to have been about record label exec David Balfe (as Country House is) although given how pessimistic The Great Escape is it could easily be autobiographical.

Fiona Dodwell: "Ringleader in Reflection: A Look Back at Morrissey’s 2006 Album, Ringleader of The Tormentors" (March 31, 2021)

I read somewhere (it might have been here) that a lot of it was quite flowery and didn't really work. But at least put it on a b-side!

Fiona Dodwell: "Ringleader in Reflection: A Look Back at Morrissey’s 2006 Album, Ringleader of The Tormentors" (March 31, 2021)

I like Ringleader, it's a good old easygoing sort of record and it's got a good set of b-sides too (I'm in the Sweetie Pie fanclub, it's got a membership of one). That said, I've never quite forgiven anyone involved in Dear God Please Help Me for inviting Ennio Morricone to score it then...

Gigwise: "11 Underrated Songs: The Smiths A band with a famously flawless discography" (March 12, 2021)

It's just a list of songs. You could pick and choose from any of them.

Far Out: "From David Bowie to Morrissey: Tony Visconti names the favourite songs that he worked on" (March 3, 2021)

It's got an enormous chorus, big and bold and loud like something Oasis might have done. Which appealed to me but it is also the things you say. All a matter of opinion!

Far Out: "From David Bowie to Morrissey: Tony Visconti names the favourite songs that he worked on" (March 3, 2021)

I wish Dear God Please Help Me wasn't widely available. Get a renowned composer in to add some score then chuck most of his work in the bin. Annoys me every time. Ganglord is an absolute belter though. Blew me away first time I saw him play it live.

Morrissey Central "YOU MUST PLEASE REMEMBER" (March 3, 2021)

How can you name a post that and then not push the actual song? From a single that sold tiny numbers & not featured on any compilation, 'You Must Please Remember' has got to be one of the lesser listened to songs of all.

Morrissey Central "YOU MUST PLEASE REMEMBER" (March 3, 2021)

I worked at a studio that had worked with a band signed to Warner's - debut album recorded and all ready for the big push, then Barenaked Ladies dropped 'One Week' and that was the end of that.

Rhoda Dakar covers Morrissey - "Everyday Is Like Sunday"

From someone who's never listened to The Boiler. Maybe post using your own name, Peter.

SER YouTube: "Hollywood Bowl Hands" (February 28, 2021)

Morrissey shook my hand at the Bridgewater Hall in 2006 then gave me the filthiest look you ever did see. Proper daggers.

Rhoda Dakar covers Morrissey - "Everyday Is Like Sunday"

At least I'll be able to listen to it more than once. Unlike the other song I've heard her on. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Boiler

Morrissey Central "JUST FOR ONE DAY" (February 26, 2021)

2,500 copies, twelve quid a pop. I don't think he'll bother with albums anymore, why would anyone?

Fiona Dodwell: "Clones and conformity: Why cancel culture keeps fans thankful for Morrissey" (January 24, 2021)

Morrissey isn't 'cancelled' for his views, he's cancelled because he's 61. Quarry (a sales abberation in the first place) went platinum, Ringleader gold, Years of Refusal silver, then oblivion. That's what happens, and to people way bigger than Morrissey.

"Kill Uncle" at 30: Oddball album or timeless classic? - Dickie Felton

It's too short to compensate for its weaknesses. Look at an album like Parklife by Blur, it's got sixteen tracks three of them are throwaway but it's got 13 others. Kill Uncle has Found Found Found and Harsh Truth of The Camera Eye and that's a fifth of the album taken care of. The good songs...

Get him on the UK version with his brother from another mother, Jeremy Clarkson.
