"Knockabout World" released on YouTube / streaming platforms (Feb. 21, 2020)

I think he needs to kick out the ass licking yes men. Stop paying the electricity bill. Sit in the cold, walk the streets, watch some old movies, read a couple of books, then sit down all night under a single naked bulb and write lyrics that make his hand shake. And I don't mean in a self...

Moz was and is wrong about a lot of things. He hated the likes of OMD and yet their first 3 or 4 albums are brilliant. He hated Robert Smith. He never once complimented Johnny Marr's ex-Smiths work apart from inferring Marr wasted a couple of good songs with Electronic (I have to think he meant...

I always thought Erasure was shite. I prefer darker Cure to 'poppy'. I guess it depends what you mean by poppy. I consider Lovecats to be poppy, and a novelty song. I wouldn't consider Just Like Heaven to be poppy, or Pictures of You. The Walk had great keyboard in it, same for InBetween Days...

Morrissey: Honey You Know Where To Find Me 12" for RSD, April 18, 2020

I think he/she meant the vinyl reissue. Currently the Southpaw vinyl costs an absolute fortune. If it gets reissued on vinyl I'll be buying it. I just hope it has the original cover and not some reimagined improved cover. It should be an orange vinyl in line with the original artwork but I won't...

Louder Than War: IANADOAC review - 9 out of 10

Synthesisers are the spawn of the Daleks. That's a well known fact. They use dark magic juice electricity and sizzles when you pour holy water on it.

Thanks FWD for transcribing! Great review. I think I'll stop listening to the new songs and will wait for the whole album to come out. If the reviews so far are accurate then it will be great.

You could be right. When a new song is released I'll listen to it, but I almost wish he didn't release songs and just let the album come out. Sometimes the whole is more than a sum of its parts.

Yah but what part of the 80's? Lionel Richie? It is not cutting edge or daring, as the great 80's music was (New Order, OMD, The Cure, etc.). To me it sounds like naff 80's.

Thanks. It sounds to me like a mediocre Moz b-side. Like he was in the studio and asked for some music and did one take of vocals and went home. I like the synth element but even that is very middle of the road, and doesn't compare to even the worst New Order bside in terms of cutting edge...

So what if Moz is gay or sexually active? I couldn't care less. Just like I don't care about the orientation of posters on this site. Why can't it just be about the music?

I wish! I was near the front but didn't go for the shirt. I was spat on in the queue (by Celtic supporters, at least they looked like they were) but I guess that's not the worst aggression I've seen over the years. That concert WAS great though, wasn't it? I think it was because Moz was hungry...

You've very likely hit the nail on the head. He is selfish in all aspects, especially the concerts. For me 'the occasional flashes of greatness' in the LIHS tour were Jack The Ripper and Munich Air Disaster. Moz could easily put together a killer setlist if he wanted to. And change it up a bit...

The dreadful state of UK ticket sales

Moz is great in a run down kip like Glasgow Barrowlands (at least it was a kip when I saw Moz there in 2002. Excellent concert by the way). Hard to believe that was 18 years ago. Feels like 5 years. Anyway, my best Moz concerts have been the smaller tattier venues. I find the arenas a bit...

The dreadful state of UK ticket sales

I agree. Today (err when today was Wednesday) I got a ticket to see Suede in May, with Peter Hook as support band. I'm thrilled. Before that I have Nick Cave to look forward to, followed by Pixies. I'm sure I will find even more great concerts later this year. Which is my way of saying "yes I'd...
