OUR hamster died last night. We watched over her for about an hour as her breathing became labored. Then she gasped about fifteen times -- then stopped. It was very sad. My son was very upset. This was the third hamster we have lost. Unfortunately, they only live about 2 1/2 years. We burried her in the yard this afternoon. My son wants another one. I told him we will think about it. See I am the caretaker of all the pets. We also have a fish and a cat. Guess who changes the tank H20 and litter box every week. That's right -- me. Two months ago, our fish, which we have had for over five years, was acting very ill for a couple of days. She has since perked-up. I don't know how much longer she will be with us though. Five years is pretty old for an albino catfish.

PETER Jennings has lung cancer at 66. It doesn't look good. The survival rate after five years is less than 15%. He was a life long smoker who only quit a few years ago.

SOLOISTS tend to be very territorial. It seems that some people only post on the Main Page. Others only hang-out in chat. Some only keep a journal. Then there are those who only post on the GDF. Oh, and let's not forget the Guestbook. I haven't quite figured out its purpose yet. There seems to be a feud over its content, at the moment. I don't think there are too many of us who contribute to several ares of the site.

WILLY WONKA is my favorite movie. This is saying a lot -- being that I am a huge movie buff. I love movies more than music -- in general. Here is some strange trivia about the movie. The original Oompa Loompas from Dahl's book, were actually black, African Pygmies. In the seventies, he revised his book and changed them to be white, long haired, hippie dwarfs. Later, to avoid any controversy whatsoever, the movie makers depicted them as orange skinned, green haired, little people -- pretty smart for the seventies. Apparently the remake, due out this July, sticks close to Dahl's book. Does this mean that the Oompas will be white hippies? Will all the characters in the movie also be white? I wonder if there will be a protest from the PC police? Time will tell.
