Morrissey is to appear on London's Xfm this coming Monday (17th May).

Their website doesn't appear to have caught up yet but they were shouting about it and getting very excited on the air this evening. He is due to appear on Music Response which goes out between 7pm and 9pm.

The format is usually an interview, talking about the album and some live sessions.

Xfm can be heard in London 104.9FM or on Sky Channel 864 * NTL Channel 891 * DAB Digital Radio. You can also listen online I believe.

The website is www.xfm.co.uk

Mojo magazine out in the UK and Ireland today has a huge 10 page interview with Moz which took place both in London and LA. In addition, later in the magazine there is an article regarding the very first Smiths gigs with comments from Joe Moss (ex-Smiths manager), Tony Wilson (Factory Records), Mozzer, Johnny Marr and others.

Finally there is also an ad for the Q/Mojo 148-page collectors edition magazine of The Smiths and Morrissey out on 28 May.

The new Mojo magazine is absolutely chock-full of Moz and Smiths, including a huge article and interview, and loads of pics, one of which is Moz on a lounger by the poll of The Beverly Hills Hotel, surrounded by kids. I will try and get all this scanned and up tonight.

But there is more - listen to this...

"On May 28th, a Q/MOJO Special Edition on Morrissey and The Smiths is published. A handsome brute of a magazine, it is filled with new interviews, commentary, analysis and never-before-seen photography. Also within is an extensive interview with guitarist Johny Marr where, for the first time ever, he recounts a truly extraordinary incident that occurred in the early-to-mid 90's that will have Smiths-dom foaming at the mouth. 'I did reconvene the band', he confirms. 'It was before the court case, not immediately before it, and not because of it. I got us together on Chrissie Hynde's recommendation, because she's smart and she thought that a relationship that had been so important shouldn't be left unresolved. We actually got together a few times, all four of us...'. This special Edition is available under the aegis of Q magazine in the UK and MOJO overseas, including the USA. Go to www.mojo4music.com for more information. Smiths fans, get a stiff drink and be seated..."

So there you have it. Wow. Funny how the quote from Moz they picked for the cover says "The Smiths will end in murder".

Tonight, on the Craig Kilborn show, Barry Manilow was on, and when he was introduced, he got a loud ovation, and he said to Kilborn, "Who do they think I am -- Morrissey?" Kilborn then said to Barry Manilow, "you know, he's going to be on next week..."

So yeah, was surfin' the tube to where I had to stop 'cos Barry Manilow was on the Late Late Show. He was tickling the ivory a bit and the crowd went wild! Then he responded back with "What do you think I'm Morrissey or something?" very playfully. Craig smiles and says "Ah, yes Morrissey, but before the 80's, I listen to you". Such an ass kisser he is that Craig!

Just tought I'd mention that tidbit. Don't ask why I stopped for Manilow.

Was listening to Terry Christian's show (on BBC GMR, Manchester) last night. After playing half the album last week, they played a fair few more off the new album as well as B-side Munich Air Disaster 1958.

He announced that next Wednesday's show is a Moz special in the build up to the M.E.N show - every third song will be a Smith's/Moz track with loads of b-sides and rare stuff being played.

Christian mentioned how much he loved the new album and then ripped into Q journalist John Harris for having attacked the album. He gave Harris a right going over and, more or less, said he's always been an arsehole.

It's alleged that Harris was under specific instruction from Q magazine to give Morrissey a hard time after the Moz father had refused a front cover of the mag.

Irish Blood, English Heart was played in it's entirety at the close of this weeks' CDUK, perhaps Britain's most mainstream pop programme.

It's presenter, Cat Deeley, introduced the video - over thousands of teenagers screaming for they-knew-not-what -by saying "After a seven year wait it's now time for a living legend. People cryed with joy when he played this next song at The Royal Albert Hall, so welcome back, the one and only, Morrissey"

God, even Busted don't get an intro like that. Not the most important post, but combined with everything, it's clear Santuary are the best label he's ever been with.
