Midnight Morrissey "Autobiography" sales

The Big Green Bookshop in North London are opening at midnight to sell the book. http://www.biggreenbookshop.com/. I know this, because I own the shop! I can't wait for the book to come out. I haven't seen it myself yet, but I want to be one of the first people EVER to get my hands on a copy.

Any others?

I'm shocked, not even Manchester, are they having a midnight launch.

I've sent enquiries to Waterstones, even music shops, regarding a midnight release and they've either not replied, appeared disinterested or just flatly refused.

Nice idea Big Green....but I think I'll wait for my reservation for Autobiography to arrive at the library. I've waited 10 years for this book. I can wait another week or so! ;)

That's a pretty cool idea..I miss the days of going to the record store at midnight on release day to pick up a new release..

The waiting is killing me. What if its a giant f***ing Penguin Classics Mad Lib with a shit ton of blanks for us to fill in? What if it's great? I can't eat.

Buy one you tight get.

All this histeria around a book from a man who has said throughout his life the most appalling statements
can only be interpreted as a symptom of how unbearably uninteresting and hollow we have become as a society.
This book will be your brand new toy to entertain your aged brain cell, I understand that. But make no mistake,
you won't be more interesting after reading it.
Read War and Peace instead.

Well, I do my best to go there on the 17th and buy the book from you as I live in the area. You could have background music and play his albums to make most of it for such an important day.

Are you first on the list? Otherwise you are going to be waiting a lot longer than a week.

As a fan, isn't this the one book you want or should want to own? I don't get it. Unless you are dirt poor. Then you are forgiven.

I'm not a tight get (I often give money to beggars, actually.), I ain't dirt poor either, but I'm with Tingle 3 on that one. Although there's next to zero chance my local library will ever own a copy...Classic or not.
I'll just have a very quick look at the book in a bookshop. They don't like it when you start reading books in bookshops, and I'm much too polite to offend them.

I will rely on other readers for the best bits. Providing there are any.

Unless of course Andy Rourke gets his royalties, then I'll happily buy the bloody thing. It's cheap for a door stop anyway. :)

PS/ I'm not even kidding. I haven't given Morrissey any money for years. -Any doubt? Thought not... :)

It's remarkable how reasonably well priced the book is online and I assume in the shops too. I don't know how you can wait! I'm getting mine beamed in via e-reader.

I'm counting on you guys for the juicy bits, I'm waiting til I can get it here easily. My life is too crazy now to read it like I'd want to anyway, without interruption. I'd just get frustrated.

That's a really strange motivation for reading anything. Enjoyment tends to be enough for me (and, I suspect, most people). Do you really believe there are people on this site (or anywhere) who genuinely believe they will me made more interesting simply by reading Morrissey's autobiography?

That is how I purchased my copy. Only downside is it takes ten days to two weeks for it to arrive. May have to splurge and get it in digital format as well.

Pathetic.

What is pathetic about what I said? :squiffy:

Excuse(s)-fail!

Is there a simpler way to get the book than ordering it online today for $12.00 and having it delivered to your home? PLEASE! And, as far as having time to read it? Do us all a favor and stop posting here and read the book instead. With the time you spend here... shucks, you could have that book finished in a day or two. You are not busy. Just the other day you admitted that you post here all day because you are bored and your life is empty. Fill it with Moz's autobiography instead of Solo. Are you a fan of the man or this website? PLEASE 2!

A little harsh. I will try not to come on here until I've read it, there's always someone who can devour it faster and then spoilers are ubiquitous, as was the case when the albums were leaked in the past. Perhaps the style will be such that it will take some time, I found the moors story wasn't a particularly quick read.

The point of a book is the information is there on the page forever. I get a call/knock on the door/ text every 20 minutes from 8 to 8 every day. I want to read the book in one go and savor the prose, not race through it to prove I'm the fastest reading fan.
