If I were you I'd feel more worried about all the thugs at the Morrissey concerts crushing people to death. Who cares if Latin people listen to it. I could go one step further and say everyone here couldn't listen to Morrissey because you are American!

'Morrissey stands for everything English and you do not belong.'

Of course I don't agree with that because you have as much right as I have to listen to him. It hurt though didn't it? Saying you didn't have the right to listen to him. In my opinion it should be based on your intelligence, rather than your race.

Look, I don't mean to be insensitive but what you said was really stupid (which ironically precludes you from listening to Morrissey by your own standards). You talked about how it hurts to be excluded by inane standards, then in your closing line you set one yourself.

Intelligence doesn't have to be set by academic standards or how good your grades are. Morrissey is an intelligent person, and his lyrics are a reflection of that. Morrissey failed his 11+ and his O levels at school, does that make him thick? I don't think so.

I wasn't trying to set a limit to how intelligent you have to be to listen to Morrissey, I was mentioning intelligent thought and actions. As you have probably realised, this last tour has resulted in virtually every gig resulting in fights, and I was just angry that Morrissey has being setting standards for years about intelligence, and I got the imppression that people who were into Morrissey were articulated people. Then, in one tour, he seems to be ignoring all of that.

Are you honestly telling me that these drunken yobs have an ounce of intelligence? I find it immensly amusing that so many of them have listened to 'The National Front Disco', heard the lines "England for the English", and straight away branded Morrissey as a candidate for the NF.

If they had only bothered listening to it, they would realise that he is taking the mick. Although why he hasn't told them this I am at a loss to answer.

Yes, I know that I was slightly contridicting myself, but that is no reason to call me stupid. Race is easy to distinguish, intelligence isn't. There are people on this website who are being openly racist, yet only you yourself can decide your own intelligence.

Re: Thicko

I agree. You're not the brightest sandwich in the barrel are you Kate?

"The brightest sandwich in the barrel" Where did you pick that one up?

Has anyone else got so much hassle over one message? How many messages have been posted out saying 'The Hispanic culture shouldn't listen to Morrissey songs' and no-one bats an eyelid?

Is the 'Naughty English Person' in reference to you or me? If it's to me, please call me that from now on as I quite like it.

Have you read my other message in reply to K? I was merely trying to discourage people deciding on which race is liable in listening to Morrissey songs. I think intelligence is O.K to distinguish people with, as it covers all colours, religions and backgrounds. There are no bounderies regarding it. I am not guilty......

However, I expect that won't be considered in the next witch-hunt message, probably entitled 'Dumbo', 'Spaz', or words to that effect....

Can you understand that you are simply exchanging one form of prejudice for another? Or are you really that dumb? You are a pharisee.

Boy, you really frustrate me. I don't know why. I don't know you, but I think I hate you. You make no sense, and you're obstinate.

Dumbo, "witch-hunt?" Look Spaz.... oh, forget it. I hate you, and I hope you die. Please die. May you be taken in the night by two men in top hats, splayed on a boulder, and then stabbed.

Hmmm well that is a fallacy against a person and therefore cannot function as an argument. Yet you didn't see the irony. I agree with Kate and wish her more power on her voyage of pulling in more intellectual fans.

Re: Bright

Kate, I'd like to apologise. I have no interest in this debate at all, and merely added to it to be inflamnatory. I don't think you lack intelligence or anything like that. I was just acting true to my name. And yes, I am English and I am Naughty. And I try to be a person, or at least half a one (groan).

Goodwill all round,

Well said Kate, I agree entirely. I know for a fact that lots of Morrissey fans have been upset by the behavior of certain sections of the crowd - it's not that we're soft, we just don't think it's clever to start fights because we're bored. Well done Kate for saying something that is blindingly obvious, but ignored by many. Surely it is also the case that the declining media attention suffered by Moz is at least partly because of these newer, more violent followers. Not that I'm suggesting we should bring back the flowers, but it would be nice to see more fans behaving like adults. By the way, I prefer to think of myself as an articulate person, not an articulated person!
