I've seen them live and it was a horrible experience! Too much noise, no lyrics - I hate guitar solos! But I must say they have dedicated fans and loads of people adore them, so I suppose you have to listen to them yourself...

SO MUCH FOR LONDON!

I heard they really dislike Blur, which in my book is a strike against them, but then again Blur really haven't done anything to exciting since "The Great Escape", they're going for an American sound rather than a British sound which is a shame. Modern Life is Rubbish is one of my favorites...

Thanks for the input! I can't decide what to buy next, so much music
so little money. Guitar solo...hmmm. I like some of them, but it really depends on the guitarist. guess i'll buy it tonight. I do like some noise rock, every blue moon.

What the hell?!! Just cuz of Song 2? The self-titled album was not American sound. If it was, they could have had more than one hit! "Blur" was more experimental. Are you just trying to spread words of evil critics or what? "Blur" falls just behind "Parlife" as their best.

They are crap. Don't waste your time and money.

the NME adores them

and that means they suck. They are indie snobs, too - sold shirts with 'Blur are @#!!!e' on them, making money off their snobbery ha ha ha. Godspeed You, Black Emperor are a similarish band but MUCH better so check them out instead.

Blur are dead boring and always have been. Same with all the rest of that Britpop stuff. Too image conscious. Catchy tunes and sarcastic lyrics do not a good band make.

I listen to Mogwai (every now and then, more then than now!) - they're a bit nosy and they really do sound wretched at times but to each his own!

I do have to agree with them on one thing though, Blur are @#!!!e!
Does anyone have one of those tee's Mogwai printed up that says that??? I'd like to buy one in size small, if possible! Heh, heh...

Mogwai: excellent

Great band; sublime instrumental work. Obnoxious people though.

Check out:

Mogwai Young Team 2xLP
Come On Die Young 2xLP

and the various 7"/12" singles especially "New Paths To Helicon" and the new "EP"

Also there is a good remix album Kicking A Dead Pig 2xLP (Eye Q)
and for all the latecomers a compilation of the early stuff called
Ten Rapid (LP and CD)
