  1. 2014 Welcome!

The past is the past. Today is a fresh start. This is now the time for resolution. Start of my fifth book: realitybites Resolution. Book four is being assembled now... Should have a link to it later today. All books can be downloaded for free from my Box. They are in PDF format. Links to books.
  2. A Collection of Accumulations

What is the difference between a collection and an accumulation? A collection is two or more items that were purposefully hunted for and gathered together into a group because they share similar characteristics and qualities. An accumulation is also a grouping of similar objects, however, there was no purposeful intention to access these things... there was no hunting involved. I have lots of accumulations: cards, books, music, movies, Legos, toys, shoes, purses, makeup, quilts, cooking...
  3. All of the Rumors...

It has been stated that I... Read Salon by both Pet Troll and Saddo. FALSE. I never read Salon. I read Slate. Am a politically correct liberal. Actually, I am a classic liberal, not a bleeding heart, white apologist. When it comes to foreign policy, I am more inline with the hawks than the doves. Photoshopped my selfie pic to remove wrinkles. I did nothing whatsoever to alter that pic. It went straight from my camera to flickr to Solo. Check the exif data for proof. Slept with...
  4. An Atheist's Last Wish

In the event of my death, Please kindly hold your breath. Loved ones do not wish you to quote, Vacuous death cliches, Uttered by rote. You claim to speak from the heart, Offering condolences and support. But my prayers are with you, rest in peace, And she's in a better place, are insulting, To rationalists in mourning. If you must say anything, Just a few simple words will do. Tell my family and friends that, You are sorry for their loss, And for your own loss too.
  5. An Iron Fist Inside a Velvet Glove

See Part II. Hand In Glove—Leslie—does the world revolve around you, my dear? Are all of my blog posts about you? Are ANY of them about you? Do you think you mean that much to me? You don't. And even though you seem to think I have been talking about you in my blog, I have not. All my posts, in fact, are about other people—people I DO interact with on the forums. You are invisible in the forums. You hardly post. You are a non-entity. You have no positive impact or negative one. That you...
  6. Angry women

What happens when a jaded, middle aged woman who is sexually frustrated and feeling powerless about the course of her own life gets stuck in a shared environment with people she cannot bend to her will? She will break them instead. With all her soul crushing might, she will throw her poisoned arrows into their sweet and fragile hearts, either extinguishing their life centers immediately, or more than likely, leave gaping, weeping wounds that allow their life's blood to slowly, painfully run...
  7. Animals, Sex, Meat, and Morals

Kind of a stream of conscious thing on the ethics of eating meat... Why is it acceptable to kill and eat animals but taboo to have sex with them? Let's see, behavior is formally regulated by two major institutions: government and religion. Also, rights are regulated/granted/defined by these as well. Both animal and human. At the begging of civilization, before there was a concept of animal rights, humans were thought to have dominion over animals. They could use them for food and...
  8. Anonymous Sometimes

My can things change in two and a half years. With new information, our paradigms may shift. In August 2011, I wrote a bog entry titled The Filter Bubble. It has been read by posters here and at least one person has used it as ammunition in an argument. In other words, thrown it back in my face, if I was ever critical of anonymous posting. Seemed that my little polemic had locked me into a position. So now, today, I am rectifying my position—reaffirming how I feel about anonymous posting...
  9. Another Bucket List Box Checked!

My bucket list is short. One of the things is to become a grandma. Wish fulfilled. My first grandson will be born early February.
  10. Anthony Bourdain State of Mind

Forgive me I'm out of practice. I haven't written much here or anywhere in the last few years. I blame it on Prozac. My desire or need to express myself out loud, in words, has been stifled. I'm just not that inspired, compelled, or motivated. I think my open-ended drug prescription has been a prescription for mild numbing of my emotions and a physical laziness which makes keeping it all inside less taxing. It is the price I pay to feel safer and saner. But don't think for a second that...
  11. Best Birthday Ever!

Touchdown! Airport in Honolulu. Holy Waikiki that's cold! Ok, I'm good now. Windy! Diamond Head in background. Rented a car and drove up the coast to North Shore. One of the stops along the way. Best son ever!
  12. Blog Comments

Apologies to anyone who has posted a comment in my blog that has gone unacknowledged, has not been responded to, or has not been approved. I discovered a while ago that I had not been receiving notices when a comment had been posted. I alerted davidt to this problem. But he was unable to fix it. Perhaps I need to uncheck or check something in the settings. I can't figure it out. But, I was unaware until yesterday, that posted comments were invisible to others. Apparently the default...
  13. Blogging Moz Live(ish)

Tonight's the night baby! Me. Mom. Moz. Marquee. Leaving work at 3:30 PM. Will check into hotel in Tempe, go out for some drinks and tapas, then head to the venue. Don't need to be the first folks there. Not sure what kind of pics I'll get. Nothing worth posting on the tour thread, I'm sure. But I'll share what I get here. Soon Mom will find out what all the fuss is about. BTW, it's 86 F in Phoenix. I bet Moz is loving it!
  14. Brain Drain July

**7/21/12 ~ Update at bottom of post... *7/10/12 ~Update near bottom of post... Just as the temperatures outside reach their highs, my cultural pursuits hit all-time lows. Can it get any worse than consuming all three books in the Fifty Shades of Grey series in less than a week’s time? And if that weren’t enough, to continue the obsession by blogging about the books—twice—as if I hadn’t already spent enough time reading the texts? There was the artwork—the painting of Christian Grey....
