California Dreaming

By realitybites · Jun 1, 2014 · ·
  1. I miss the ocean. While I do love the mountains and rocks surrounding me, I am sadly landlocked here in Sedona. I've toyed with the idea of moving back to Florida—I have family there. And the Tampa Bay area has a wonderful boating community. Unless the ocean returns to the desert basin, I'm out of luck, as far as boating goes here.

What about California? It has it all. I use to live in San Francisco and loved it there. But honestly, I prefer the warmer climate down south. I've gotten quite accustomed to sunny skies and temperatures above 90 F. Plus, southern California has the ocean and the mountains.

Didn't CG say she has a spare room? :D

    Right now, I'm California dreaming...

But a move is not out of the question. I'm seriously going to consider my options.

  1. Oh my god. it's Robby!
The job I wanted there requires "CELTA" which I was going to get by going there and taking the training there, then applying for work, all that is very risky though, so I instead opted to do CELTA with EF and have signed on for another year here...

Thanks Robby. I am going to investigate San Diego. That pic you posted of the coast with the flowers is gorgeous. Hear anything about Vietnam?

well, if its sea breezes and just looking at the water you really need, I'd say somewhere along the coast of the Northwest is good, Oregon, Washington state
but if you want to actually get into the water then
the coast of San Diego county cannot be beat, sure, parts of it are prohibitively expensive to live in, but
not all of it :guitar: you can live affordably in some place a short drive from the coast, its basically the new "OC"
and as long as you don't care to travel to L.A. too often, then you can avoid spending your life in traffic
honestly, if I do ever go back to the states for good, its where I'd like to end up

Where would you recommend? I miss the ocean. It is killing me.

L.A. is a nice to visit and sometimes I miss it, being from there and all :o
but it is a horror in a way and becoming more so of one as time goes on
the key is that L.A. is a lie  and I am so happy to left it for another place so unlike it
and really, there are plenty of other places with good weather without all the horrible traffic, fake people & kind of segregation of class and race that is hard to see until you are a part of it
besides, with rising sea levels, you'll be by the beach eventually ...
