The online version of a Singapore magazine called Juice has a longer version of what's also in their printed version here:

Morrissey: Wordsmith - Juice
by Aizyl Azlee on Friday, 1st June 2012

Includes:

"I’ve been uncomfortable since the day I was born, so discomfort is nothing new. There is a large audience of music lovers who want to be treated intelligently, and I am appreciated, at least, for that. As we all know, the world of music has become meaningless and moronic and obsessed with the prize system. Suddenly it is ONLY about awards, and awards are given only to people who have nothing to do with advancing music or thought. Look for someone in music with any social commentary and you’ll… need a lot of spare time on your hands."

How has being a cult icon affected your life? "I don’t like the word ‘cult’ because it suggests that you don’t actually appeal in the greater world. I’ve had three number...

No more Matt Walker. Looks like this is Joyce's big chance.

Hi all,

James Postlethwaite here! New to the forum I'll introduce myself quick! I'm a filmmaker, cinematographer and director based in the Midlands and have worked on various shorts, features, television, live programmes and documentaries. This post is about a new project I am working on and I need your help!!

I am currently in production with a documentary called "That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore" based on The Smiths' presence on the indie-pop music scene. I am looking for interesting interviewees who will provide a good insight into the world of The Smiths. Whether you're a die hard fan, saw them live, or have just discovered them, I would love to hear from you. This documentary is in conjunction with BBC Nottingham and Bluewater Films.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I'm pretty terrible at writing posts on forums so if you want anymore information you can give me a call on 07976485748 or email me direct at...

Gaining On The Comets: Producer Woodie Taylor In Interview - Artrocker
Woodie Taylor has worked with Artrocker faves from Veronica Falls to Shrag alongside superheroes like Morrissey. Here the producer/musician reveals his studio secrets - and how you could get started at the desk

Excerpts:

Outside of your work as a producer, you've also done a variety of interesting work, such as playing drums on the classic Morrissey album Vauxhall and I! What are your memories of that record?

Rather dream-like really. Three months of a hot summer at a residential recording studio. Working with (producer) Steve Lillywhite, who is inspirational – a master at drawing out the best performances. I think Morrissey had reached a new songwriting high (with Boz Boorer and Alain Whyte), was happy (honestly!) and singing so well - there were a great band of musicians and...

Morrissey mention on the Colbert Report

An anonymous person writes:

On last night's Colbert Report (5/29), when discussing the presidential elections in Egypt, Colbert mentioned that one of the front runners in the election is Mohammed Morsi. He then clarified he has no relation to Morrissey and showed a picture of Morrissey next to Morsi's picture. The crowd laughed and Colbert seemed like he wanted to smirk. Although it was a quick mention, it was exciting to see Morrissey mentioned on the Colbert Report, especially for other Colbert fans! It's awesome to think that Colbert might be a Morrissey fan :)

If you would like to watch the clip, you can watch it on hulu.com. He starts to discuss the Egyptian election at 1:15 and then mentions Morsi and Morrissey at 1:32.
