  • This is an old photo taken at Morrissey's 50th birthday party. Interesting that it is appearing now on TTY. Apparently, or at least I hope, Morrissey is a fan of the show.

    Shameless, now on Season 7, is shown in the UK on Channel 4. It's basically a comedy/drama centered around two families, the Gallaghers and the MaGuires, that live on the mythical Chatsworth Estate in the not-so-mythical city of Manchester. They have been known to reference Morrissey and the Smiths more than once.

    It is also shown is the US on the Sundance Channel uncut and uncensored astonishingly enough where they just completed showing Season 5 with the birth of baby Stella.

    Despite rumors, Frank did NOT name her after the beer!

    It's from his 50th birthday pictures from awhile back. You can see the shirt he's wearing in the background of one of the images pretty clearly. Obviously it was in this room before he put it on. There is a 50 on it as well as his image. Haven't we all gotten cheesy stuff made for our own birthdays?     I haven't seen Shameless.
    I checked yesterday if any Swedish channel showed it. It was shown on TV4 Komedi last year. With a re-run earlier this year. But I'll keep an eye on that channel from now on.

    Shameless is socially irresponsible shite. Can't understand why Morrissey approves of stuff like that and then gets upset by yobbish behaviour at his gigs when someone throws a glass of water at him. Hey look at us, we're just like the people on Shameless.

    The first series were filmed on location in a place called West Gorton in Manchester, but they had to stop it and scuttle off back to a studio set instead because they kept getting attacked by the locals and having their equipment nicked. A strange case of karma actually before the event for once. Pity no one saw a the connection.

    • I do not blame him whatsoever for not digging the behavior at his shows. I was sitting at a bus stop one time late at night and some inconsiderate person that I did not know threw a water bottle at me for no reason other than they were being obnoxious.I did not even know the person. When you do random things like that you could injure somebody or cause further problems. I kind of respect that Morrissey does not approve of such things. Seeing as it has happened to me I can totally understand why you would not like it and besides how is that paying any respect to a guy who is expending his energy to bring his art to you and have a show then you do not seem to appreciate it by throwing stuff at him. It just doesn't seem right. He gets credit for that and for um a lot of other things. Almost any time anyone has given him crap over anything I totally agree with what he has said or done. He is just too much awesome.

    With the sudden burst of activity on the TTY website w/ a picture of Morrissey with the cast of Shameless taken quite a while back is i believe a response to the unflattering pics posted of him here as of late.
    Just think of it...the word..."shameless"...and i noticed on the TTY website it is spelled in ALL CAPS.
    Maybe he's speaking "in code", saying he thinks the actions of these photos being posted are "shameless"?
    It's possible...i speak in code alot on facebook! It's kinda fun..
