I just had an e-mail from the producer of the Dave Fanning show. The interview he recorded with Morrissey will be brodcast in 2 parts on Monday 4th November 7-8 GMT & Friday 8th 7-8 GMT. This can be heard on www.2fm.ie.

  • I didnt get the best connection, but I caught a few interesting points, mainly about Johnny Marr leaving the Smiths, he said it was 'a bad idea', (a slight understatement perhaps)and that he only wanted a temporary break but was too stubborn to go back...a reasonable opinion really!

  • I tuned in at about half-past the hour and it seemed like they were talking to Bono (I'm listening at work, so I can't turn it up loud enough to make sure.) Did I miss it?

  • I tuned in at the start of Bigmouth Strikes Again.Great interview!Morrissey seemed more open to questioning than usual and more direct in his responses. Most memorable quote has gotta be "I am Morrissey".Anyone got an audio or written transcript of the show?Need something to keep me entertained till Friday and part 2.Cheers

  • I liked this interview, it was straight forward and Morrissey seemed like he wanted to be dead honest, too tired for charm, with his answers to the questions, rather then "the wittiest man in the world" he seems to like to sound like these days.

Also the show starts at 2pm for us East coasters.

  • well - he's mad (Score:1, Informative)

When has Johnny Marr ever said "Morrissey is evil"? It was very sad to hear him say this - it seems his view of why The Smiths split is still very deluded and his opinions about Marr I found shocking - I didn't realise just how much baggage he's still carrying from that. I can't believe he said that about JM. In fact, I thought it was great that Fanning actually said "but you're grown men".
