Apart from the reference in this article to SpecteR, culled from Spin.com, playing in New York on the 26th & 27th of May. They will be playing at The Black Cat, D.C. on th 29th of May. The Milky Way, Boston on the 30th of May and The Tune Inn, C.T. On the 31st of May.

SpecteR will be playing at The Castle, Union Street, Oldham on Friday the 27th of April. (Note from Ezra: Sadie (featuring members of the Salford Lads) will be opening these shows on each US date. Also, the Don Hills show is being booked by Homegrown Productions and will be a Morrissey/Smiths night. The URL for that night, plus flyers, directions, etc. can be found here.)

  • Good Sailing, Joyce and Rourke!
I wish you guys the best. Right move!

P.S. Thanks, guys and gals! It is time for me to retire from this board! Why? Obviously I said already everything I wanted to say, told all my jokes and observations I wanted to tell, stirred all the mess I wanted to stir... It's time for me to give more space to the Young Ones...

Especially thanks to Mr David Tseng for tolerating
me and my atrocious English for so long... Even so, I was given a string of zeros...

    Example:
I'm writing a long review of Johnny Rogan book... However badly or waterly written, it deserves, dare I say, at least 1 point... At least for the pure effort... But zero point, again...

Next message somewhere else goes something like that (not exact text, just an approximate example): "I agree with Mr. X. Moz and Siouxie at the Interlude song are so great together." 1 point

Next message: "My poodle pees green after it hears the Smiths" (2 points, Insightful) :-) :-) :-)

Well, David T, maybe I deserved those zeroes by being a Public Nuisance... (Vanilla Ice: "Respect the hero, give him a Zero!") Whatever.. Definitely I'm not Your Teacher's Pet... Anyway, thanks for maintaining this high-tech Site, and doing a very good job... (I mean it) Thanks everybody... It is time for me to move on in life... Teardrops are falling...

But don't worry, I'm not goin to jump headfirst into Hollywood Highway or leave for Amazon jungles...
Webmasters at numerous Tori Amos Websites, AWARE AND BEWARE... The Me is coming... Just have to invent the right Tori-related monicker... like Happy Boy Phantom or LeatherMan or EarthquakesBoy or SpaceDogBean or...

While Moz is sleeping, Tori is touring...

    The Same New Bean

P.S. "Now, folks, you don't have here Old Dick to kick around no more..." Richard Nixon, while losing California Governorship at 1966... :-)

P.S.S. David, please give me "1" for this message,
at least once, You see, I'm being a good boy, I'm leaving for good! :-) :-) :-)

  • Just so everyone knows, I spoke with the Milky Way yesterday and they are being VERY secretive about the show. They said that they can tell me no info at this time but if it happens, they will announce it soon. As I called them, someone was on the other line from the local newspaper trying to find out the same info. That is what the person I had on the phone told me. He also said that her will be NO advance tix sales. Night of the show only. Let's get there early!!!! See you all there!!!!

  • I will force myself to go to the show in CT, just to see the x members, (because I am so embarrased by imitators be it hooloigans or lads) but I look forward to the audience in Ny because, well just because they're usually just so darn sexy...

Sleep On And Dream Of Love, Because It's The Closest Thing I'll Get To Love....
  • Wait, I just realized - if Mike and Andy are going to be playing with a band that has members of the Salford Lads, is there a chance they may do some Smiths songs together?! God, i hope so!!

  • If you go to The Black Cat's website (www.blackcatdc.com) it says that Grant Hart of Husker Du is playing that night on the 29th of May. This can also be confirmed by going to Grant Hart's site @ www.granthart.com. Is this SpecteR date confirmed? Will they be opening? Man, what a night that would be!

  • Specter in Oldham (Score:2, Informative)

I went to the gig in Oldham. I thought they were crap. I wouldn't bother going to see them if they are playing in a town near you. The lead singer kept complaining about how bright the lights were so he is obviously not going to make it as a star. The lyrics consisted of a load of rubbish about eating parsnips for lunch. However they do sound very much like The Seahorses so if you like that sort of shit I'm sure you will become their number one fan.

  • I saw Specter at the Castle in Oldham on Friday. It was fantastic to see Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke playing better than ever. I couldn't believe that I was actually seeing half of the Smiths playing live for the first time. They are obviously still passionate about their music and I hope they do some more dates in the UK very soon because I will be there. Does anyone know if Specter have a website or does anyone know of any future UK gigs. I would love to find out more about them.

    Ps. what's wrong with parsnips???
Good luck to Specter in America. See you when you
    get back.

  • I'm sorry but any praise for the spectacle of SpecteR is ill judged. I have seen Andy Rourke with both Jeep and this incarnation and it's just like watching a poorly dog slowly drop. Mike Joyce is as powerful and on the button as ever which dictates that he still has it in him to produce something a little more edgy than Jason Specters MOR bollocks. the Roadhouse pretty much emptied and the rest including Mani and Aziz were talking amongst themselves. I can only conclude that there is only one credible Smith and that's Jonny with Moz just incredible.
Rourke and Joyce wouldn't allow the guy on the mic to name them as from the Smiths, ashamed of something? Or just a little too big for your past darlings? Lawnmower parts.
