Finn extravaganza a team effort - The New Zealand Herald online (Mar. 4) excerpt:
"Stage left was Johnny Marr...who contributed some lovely six-string jangle, harmonica and let the Smiths song There Is A Light That Never Goes Out be resurrected with Neil Finn on lead vocals."
The article contains a pic from the gig.

There is also a report at NME.com - "Neil Finn joined onstage by members of Pearl Jam and Radiohead", link from Michael Dunn.

  • Goddddddddddd, my heads reeling at the thought of this and now I'm imagining just Marr and Morrisey on a dark stage doing 'I know it's over'. I never got to see the Smiths having grown up in Australia and now my emotion is swinging to anger! Were live versions of Smith songs ever radicaly different, arangement wise, than the studio legacy?

    Listen to HIS voice.....
  • It is terribly unfortunate that Morrissey and Marr can not heal their differences. There are many thousands of fans that would like nothing better than to see these two back together again. I guess in some cases time does not heal old wounds...
