Michael Stipe on meeting Morrissey (Q magazine, May)

There are some Moz related comments in the new issue of Q magazine (May) which has REM on the cover. Asked if aware about the Morrissey/REM Brit awards duet rumour MS replied, "What? Where did that come from?" Then asked whether he'd seen Moz lately, MS replied, "Yeah, I ran into him in a parking lot in Los Angeles. He was great. He approached me and we sat and talked and had coffee for an hour or so. I had last spoken to him in New York, some time in the early '90s. He looks great. He seems to be doing pretty well."

There's another article about accidents at 'rock gigs' which describes the Morrissey getting hit by a string of sausages incident that was discussed on Morrissey-solo a few weeks ago.

  • Why Michael Stripe is lying to us? I mean he and Moz were seen together numerous times recently all around LA! Maybe Moz is being super-paranoid ("I am a private person") and freaking out? Aren't they both out of the closet? What about song "Found, found, found" from "Kill Uncle". Wasn't it dedicated to Michael Stripe!

  • Well, I dunno... I mean, perhaps he forgot the incident of people seeing both talking to Courtney Love in that LA pub... By the way Where and when else have they been seen together? Just curious.

    Michael is out of the closet (At least, I know I have chances! He is bisexual! Woo Hoo [LOL]!) As far as I am aware, Morissey is not... At least not in the way we expect, but I like it that way,because it is a slap in the face of this classifying-people-for-sexual-preferences society (And he set an example that "Will and Grace"'s Sean Hayes is following.

    Offtopic PS: I envy Michael Stipe, for surrounding himself by many of the coolest most talented (and in some cases, cutest) friends or acquaintances: Moz, Bono Vox, Peter Gabriel (other Mike seems very inseparable of sometimes, but since Pete is straight... [LOL]), Eddie Vedder, Matt Dillon, Drew Barrymore and Rupert Everett (among others I do not remember).

  • I thought Moz has been seen with Rupert Everett lately. You know, Rupert's openly gay...

    Maybe Moz was in friendly terms with Michael Stipe, and trying to date Rupert... Maybe he cannot make up his mind (Althought if I was Morrissey, I would prefer Rupert).

    (In case you couldn't tell THIS IS A JOKE... Any similitude with reality this is only coincidence)
