curious orange writes:

According to the NME dated 20/01/01 - "Morrissey spurned the beckoning joys of New York's Times Square celebrations or even the fireworks over Norwich Town Hall to join in Camden's once fashionable saloon, The Spread Eagle for a New Year's Eve tipple. Our sources swear it was indeed the Mozzer himself, taking respite from the LA sunshine, and possibly hoping to find some vestige of devotion to fuel his flailing (and, possibly non-existent) solo career."

  • If it was Ted from E!, we'd at least get a run down of what he wore and what he drank....

  • I said once here that we have to stop talking about NME here - anyway, they seem so obsessed by our man that it becomes funny...

  • I thought I read before that at the NY signing of his DVD someone said Morrissey didn't even like NY. So why was he there for New Year's? For someone who doesn't like someplace, he sure seems to be frequenting there.

  • What "sources" ... the beer tap?

Typical for the Enemy: they think they have it, but are afraid to check it.
Any decent journalist (erm .. that's a tricky one) would have taken the opportunity to wish the man a happy N.Y. and get some more out of him.

But not the NME. Whenever they think ... please call an ambulance.

No wonder they write he has no solo-career. They probably only read their own paper, and it's not particularly well-informed on that matter!!
