Je Suis Julie has noticed that True to You has edited Bryan Ferret out of the list of Morrissey's favourite albums. Roxy Music has been replaced at number 9 by Henryk Gorecki Symphony Number 3.

Find Je Suis Julie's thread at 'All You Need is Morrissey' with links to youtube clips of Gorecki.

  • ... For Your Pleasure is the better record though.

  • "For Your Pleasure" was clearly the best album on Morrissey's list. Much as I dislike Bryan Ferry's views on politics in general and hunting in particular, I cannot and will not deny Ferry's immense contribution to musical history. What a shame that La Moz feels unable to do the same.

  • Why... (Score:1, Interesting)

...choose your music tastes on whether you like the artist as a person and/or their beliefs? Just seems a bit petty to me. Personally there's some artists that I dislike as people but it doesn't stop me from liking their music. If I like a song, or an album, I'll listen to it. I mean, Paul Weller strikes me as being a bit of a twat but I still occasionally like to listen to The Jam. If, for example, some horror story involving Brian Wilson came out that led people to dislike him intensely, does it change the fact that Pet Sounds is one of the greatest albums of all time? The answer is no :)

  • I do not share Moz views on vegetarianism and therefore I have deleted all Morrissey and Smiths albums from my all time favorite album top 10. Leaves me with a empty list though. Unless number 11 will be number one. But that would be too much credit for the Greatest Hits of A-Ha.

I doubt he actually dislikes the music itself. Maybe his thought process was that if he lists it as a favourite album, he will be promoting sales of it, and on principle he refuses to contribute to the livelihood of someone who hunts.
Or maybe he still likes the music but listening to it reminds him of hunting, which then upsets him, and ruins the listening experience.

  • why Morrissey never talks about the Sex Pistols album
    ' Never mind the Bo[u]llocks '

as he repeeately spoken this was his first gig,
maybe Johnny Lydon has siad the same as Peter Hook

also Bowie's ZiggySt. album would suit in the list ,Morrissey is influenced by lots, Bowie
    is certainly 1 on them

  • This is similar to a layperson (note to the pedantics here not comparable) going "Oh I don't like The Smiths anymore cos Morrissey called the Chinese a sub-species and is a racist. I therefore have no truck for great influential music and art because I disagree with the lead protaganist's later actions.

  • I knew that B.Ferret was into killing animals for sport - I thought the rest of the world knew too. For years he's been talking about supporting blood "sports" and how his father got him involved...hasn't he? How can this be news to pop guru Morrissey?

  • Hey, I heard a great song the other day.

The guitars are a bit week ( and soppy) and the vocals are not too bad, but it's by The Pretenders and it's called, Everyday is like Sunday.

Give me T Rex any day.

I have over 900 albums but don't own a single one of Morrissey's favourites.

For someone supposedly into popular music, he always seems to have very limited tastes.
Didn't he say on Desert Island discs that he only has a collection of 50-60 singles or was that made up.
