  • I think it would have been better to leave the blue sky natural to avoid the Photoshopped look... but maybe this was done to distinguish from the original sleeve. The overall neutral tones look cool. I love, *love* the black shirt... I always wondered why it was colored red in the original release... even as a kid I wanted it to be black on the cover.

Typeface: initially, I hated it. It might grow on me. It does seem like a less stylized typeface would have been more tasteful.

  • A New Look (Score:2, Interesting)

I'm totally excited for this reissue, the Sunday singles (beeeauuutiful cover for that and chills in anticipation of the 91' Pacific Amphitheatre show's track) and possibly Viva Hate on the way.

My 2 pence on the Bona remaster/anniversary cover... comparing with my cassette of the original release, it is a treat to see more of Moz, very much 'on top' of his game ;). Might just need some sort of light framing to balance out the negative space with the boldness of so much more of his image here (now bolder with the black mesh top). The photo seems to have never been totally sharp, maybe due to it being a grab of the image from the video footage. That's alright, though.

Re. the titling, Gothic font is alright, maybe the kerning is a bit squished and crowded. Or maybe it just needs milder serifs or not all be bolded. Maybe the "M" would stand out if it was just a little bigger than the rest of Moz's name, given all the spacing was also adjusted. Imho, "Bona Drag" should be in a different but complementary font (maybe even without serifs but the original font was very nice as well), just so the two lines don't flatten each other out.

Well that's just all mho. If it's all already printed, I'll still be excited to buy it for the remastering and new tracks.

    Cheers,

  • Just awful. I was never a fan of the cover art for the original but could live with it, but this just hurts my eyes. His chest is so white it looks like a t-shirt, the blue is still in his hair from the sky being photoshopped out, and it just doesn't even look like him. I never thought it did. The parted lips, the angle, it's so homo-erotic that it's just pure silliness and the poor quality just brings it out more. I'm sorry, there is just no artistic eye in any of it. And the font?! I mean, at least have some scrawling and messy font to detract the eyes in a humane way. There are SO many pics to choose from during this time period. I would have liked to see the single artwork from the Everyday Is Like Sunday single. Really, anything else at all would be better.
