HBO’s Ricky Gervais Show (an animated version of his podcast) that aired Friday night featured a segment with an astronaut who sits in his rocket ship wallowing in loneliness and listening to Morrissey. (Please, Please, Please... was previously used in one of the episodes of RG’s HBO shows ...I suspect he’s a fan.)

  • The Show is from Ricky's previous podcasts, and when S. Merchant, K. Pilkington and Ricky were on London radiostation XFM they often played the Smiths. I remember them saying that Strangways is the best smiths record, and the most underrated.

  • I'm sure Ricky is a fan. Ricky managed SUEDE at the beginning of their stellar rise, so obviously he has an ear for great music and charismatic singers.
