  • You may prefer a solo song but this campaign could work and I don't see why Morrissey being number one, albeit with a song from his past, could be a bad thing.

Unless Morrissey states he is against it then I will support it.

The aim is to get The Smiths 'How Soon Is Now?' to number 1 in the UK singles chart on Sunday 7th of February.

UK fans are encouraged to download from Jan 31 00:00 through to Feb 6 23:59. I don't think it matters which version. I also believe there are ways and means for people outside the UK to contribute. More details on the Facebook group.

  • The people running this campaign must be doing something right. 7000 followers in 6 days and articles are starting to appear all over the place.
This is starting to look like a possibility....
Could be worth a trip to the bookies tomorrow..

Good Luck to the campaign, but the question remains.

    • It says on the facebook groups page they picked it because they felt it would have the best chance of success even though it was only on imports and warner versions. Mainly because it is probably the most popular song amongst non-Smiths fans and according to Mr Marr "Their most enduring song ever" Interestingly it has become a conversation point in many of the articles so maybe they were right...
