I don't want to speculate as to whether Alain is coming back or not, but I found an interesting fact on the ASCAP website (the organization that monitors song rights, etc.): It turns out that a track called "Home is a Question Mark" was registered by one Steven Morrissey and Alain Gordon Whyte. The title code is 381055974 and based on this, it would seem that it was, at least, registered around the same time as some of the Quarry tracks. However, no "performer" was stipulated.

as the most quotable man alive, does morrissey (a) deliberately drop future titles into conversation to lodge in our minds before we hear the songs, or (b) listen back to his interviews, trawling for poetry
or do others - in this case alain - gather the nuggets falling from his mouth and suggest them as titles?
