On clearing out some stuff recently, I came across some email correspondence from EMI UK regarding possible unreleased tracks to use on the Viva Hate anniversary edition. As you know the proposed 'Striptease' etc never happened but thought you may be interested in the list of tracks that were in EMI's archive at the time. Some have of course been released since and others we already know about but there are a few interesting titles that it would be good to find more info on. The email reads as follows: ----------------- "With regards to any other unreleased tracks I've compiled a list of odd titles that we have in mixed format, there are others on multi but I don't suppose you would be looking to add the cost of mixing to the project. Bed Took Fire Belfast Cage Of Marriage Chainsaw Dennis Cockall Song Experiment Fantastic Bird Genius Glass Menagerie Oh Well I'll Never Learn One of Our Own Please Help ThHe Cause Against Loneliness Safe Warm Lancashire Home Sisterama Stay As You Are Most of these will just be working titles for released tracks, there may also be a couple that were released but we don't have any production tape for them." ----------------- Hope this is of interest and look forward to any more information on these songs.

It's hard to hear Morrissey's vocals, they sound very distant, but the music is very beautiful. Would fit nicely into Vauxhall & I.

Sisterama - sound to me like Sister I'm A (Poet), maybe just an early take.
Bed Took Fire and Please Help are widly known .Mp3's.
But the rest - I'd love to hear!!

I think that Sanctuary should gather all of these recordings, and amalgamate them into a proper compliation - including the original version of 'Picadilly Palare' - I think that the plaintive ending of' No Dad, I won't be home tomorrow' is the best part of the song.

As for EMI releasing them it would still have to be approved by Morrissey and I don't think it's likely despite his current high profile. But the list is 100% for real.
