  • Argh! He is sold out for both NYC dates. Anyone happen to be going to the shows? Maybe pick up one of the discs for this cold soul?

  • At last night's show at Cafe du Nord, he sang "Sister I'm a Poet" commenting the word poet is never actually sung in the song and on Morrissey's lyrical genius. He also sang "I Changed My Plea to Guilty".

Great show - more people should sing about bicycles with apologetic sincerity.

    • I'm really excited about this. I think The Decemberists are one of the most interesting bands to emerge from the US indie-rock scene in a while. Colin is a real poet and wordsmith, and obviously also a really big Smiths/Morrissey fan. This CD sounds like a classy tribute, with a great selection of songs to boot.

Thanks to the generosity of people-on-the-internet, two copies are winging their way from the US to New Zealand for me and a friend. Can't wait ...
