suicidal babybird

And with this good-morning-mood, on my way to work, I ran over a little babybird that I saw too late - and that just didn't move. Why on earth couldn't it fly or hop away? I hope it didn't die - I couldn't stop.. I just saw a feather in my back mirror and started to cry.

It almost feels like a warning signal that tells me: Attention! Don't be TOO happy, something bad can happen!

Bye-Bye Birdie... :( (Score:1)
Sweetnesss, you sound like me: "Don't be TOO happy, something bad can happen!"

I have noticed every Spring how many of the baby sparrows are learning to fly, that they appear almost clueless about dangers; they allow people to approach them before taking *last-second* flight. I also notice how they seem fearless - taking their flying lessons from my window-sill - when my cat salivates through the other side of the window-pane, which further taunts my cat!

So, I'm sure they are not easily distracted as they learn to fly...and perhaps the little bird did not move since it did not yet know how fast a car could approach it. Sorry this had to happen to you...
