06:36 AM - One Day...
[ ]
One day I'll learn
one day I'll know
one day I'll be too old to care
one day things could be different
I have to take it one day at a time
and believe...

Here's a ditty I rushed earlier
First draft,(revised) so forgive the flaws.
An affectionate take on certain dreamers I know

One day…

Harry wants to be a rock star
Fancy car, designer suits
Singing songs composed on weekdays
In his lunch-break hour at Boots.

All the time he's thinking of it
All his life he’s dreamed of fame
Cannot stand the latest boy-bands
'Cause their songs just sound the same.

Every weekend he’s out gigging
Band rehearsals twice a week
Flyers, posters, My-space pages
Come along, the beer is cheap!

Harry knows it still could happen
Never will give up the dream
Keeps on playing, singing, writing
Even though he’s fifty-three.

Happy in this final acceptance of his own absurdity...Albert Camus
Rage against age (Score:1)
53 is for the young at heart! I don't know but I think there is something utterly cruel in the fact that the passing of time "leaves empty lives waiting to be filled". I know I am such a post-teen, but the fact that age is a corrosive agent of happiness...Maybe there are people who are NOT talented, whether young or not, and never wake up to this fact, and there are people who are and go on even if they are underrated. Morrissey claims and complains: "underrated then, underrated now, maybe forever" - can't he see? How lucky he is? It's him, Mick Jagger (who doesn't even count for me), Bono, and who else?

I think he could be 80 and still a rocking old fart. Talent is at times (and very few times) made of a raging refusal to accept any boundaries on the child within... but it takes a lot of rage, abundant and well conducted and so rarely made into something constructive... It's not enough to just allow yourself to dream in old patience...

He shows a contant stream of rage, even when he just sits and complains about being underrated, but he never lets age be an obstacle to his success: "I don't count on radio airplay, I don't count on youth, the only reason why I'm here is that I have such a strong audience". Should we regard him as a hopless exception or a source of inspiration?

Sometimes I feel like Moz is just plain lucky; other times, I feel his amazing courage is the only thing that made him last up there. It takes a punk and a half to be more than just a Sysiphus carrying enldessly that rock up the hill, until his spine caves in...

Very nice poem though, it truly is, but this 53 year-old seems to need a beneficial kick in the butt... ;)
