Yowzers!

Well this was my fourth time seeing him but I did take my two brothers with me one is 17 yrs old and he got to miss school to go on this little trip from our home in South Dakota to Omaha Nebraska, this is was his FIRST morrissey concert exp. It was my other brothers 2nd time seeing Morrissey. We arrived the night before the show to get settled in to our hotel and such. I did make some signs for the show but alas you couldn't take signs/posters into the venue so I was brokenhearted all my hard work on the signs I made down the drain but ah well guess it wasnt meant to be.
The following morning me and my 17 yr old bro got up at 6am to get ready for the Morrissey concert. We ate breakfast and such then went to wait in line at 8am. A little after we were waiting a blazer drove by and the guy driving yelled, "morrissey!!" and we all started yelling yeah!! lol It was awesome and later about at 10 is when that guy who yelled that him and his family came and started to line up behind us. They were the nicest people!! But I am so ashamed I didn't even get the chance to ask their names or anything so please if your reading this, I am sorry we didn't get the chance to even introduce our names or anything. But we did have a nice chat about Morrissey and all things Moz.
But within that group was 2 guys and 3 girls one of the girls was an 8 yr old girl who was there with her mom and dad the other guy that was their was friends with her dad, he was a nice chap. But ironlcally the little girls dad was at my first Morrissey show in Colorado Springs Music Hall back in 02 so that was very cool meeting someone else who was at my first Moz concert!!! As the day went on I kept checking for Morrisseys bus to arrive out back. And it showed up later and I was soooo sure he was going to come out but alas he never did and we waited for about an hour for him to come out and I finally gave up plus I had to go run back to the hotel to change my clothes because I braided all my hair and took it out before the show so it was all crimped and poofy like and I wore a lil 50s-ish dress. My other brother wore a western shirt that looked cool and my lil bro the 17 yr old one wore a black shirt with white tie. But anyways after changing into our concert clothes we waited in line some more...THEN they opened the doors at 6:30 and I sincerly thank that group behind us that kept telling people the line started behind all of us!! Thanks for that!!:D There was a guy that showed up that was talking about how he named his son after Morrissey his middle name was Morrissey I thought that was awesome, props to you!:DBut finally we went inside and the security was all like most people said elderly people that were dressed up...the ladies in suit jackets and white shirts and skirts. The men wore suit jackets and ties...it was sooo cool! But they checked your ticket as you went in to show you to your seat. I got down to the general admission pit area and omg there was NO baracade you could just put your body to the stage it was wild! It was almost like the Colorado Springs show but the stage was alot lower there!! It was sooo insance though I got even more excited we stood like on the most right handed side of the stage. The theatre was amazing though I wish I could of taken my camera in just to get footage of the place!! It was utterly amazing. But the general admisssion pit area was pretty bare for awhile and even during Moz I didn't have people pushing me or anything I loved having room!! Was sooo awesome. I guess for that area they only sold 70 tickets and from what someone was telling me mostly scalpers bought them and most of them couldnt even sell them...so I think thats why it was pretty bare. But before Kristeen Young came on I noticed Julia about 3 people to the right of my brother at one point it looked as if she was in prayer...I think she is very intriguing and its awesome she goes to every show. Moz did say something to her and gave her the mike at one point...but I will get to that later....
They had music playing in there that was stuff Moz likes..like the new york dolls, klaus nomi, jobraith...ect ect...and that was cool:D.
Kristeen young finally took the stage and I liked her music. I actually didn't like what I heard on itunes but she sounds better in concert. The drummer was not only HOT HOT HOT but he can fucking play the drums!! She reminded me of Bjork and how her hair was done reminded me of Jobraith kinda. I can see why Morrissey has a taste for her though. She is almost like a woman version of Moz. She was very pretty! She did seem kinda nervous/shy and she kept saying how like there was only 25 of us there...and at one point she giggled into the mic a few seconds into the song like a nervous giggle...was weird...but I overal did enjoy her gig. After her they started to set up for the Morrissey part. They had a video playing of which Moz picked out one part that I enjoyed was the screen tests of James Dean from East of Eden, that was neat. I also liked the Nancy Sinatra bit as well. Finally the intro music began and the anticipation was building....building...building...and then the MAN came on stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone in the pit was very into the show the entire time!! Was alot of fun. I did unfortunatly loose my right contact lens during The Queen IS Dead and I was mad/sad but I got to see the show with one good eye lol-I bet Moz was wondering why I was feeling myself during that song ROFL-cuz I was searching for my contact lens!!!!! Grrrr!! Oh well. tis life...but the concert was amazing...and I didn't even realize that night Moz played Drive In Sat. till later and I was like oh right omg fuck that was Drive in Sat. SOOO crazy...!! lol But during First of The Gang to Die I gave Morrissey my Thank You card I made for him...thanking him for sending me my book I gave him at the 02 concert back...so that did complete me. When I gave him the card on the outside of it it said MORRISSEY and he like looked at it with a funny Moz expression and then during FOTGTD he was like fanning himself with it and then laid it down by the drum kit...lol was awesome!! I really liked the transition from Life is a Pigsty to HSIN...and the hightlight for me was getting to hear Panic~! I loved how he turned the mic chord into a noose during hang the dj hang the dj... hehe
At one point the mic stand fell down past waiste level not during song but when Moz was shaking hands or doing something and he went back and made a face like oh no and pulled it back up and fixed it.
I didn't get a chance during the show to shake his hand this time round because it was like ok give him that card or shake his hand...I knew that was going to be the flip of the coin so I decided to give him the card.:D But I kept saying that I was gonna push my 17 yr old Brother on stage and at the last song...YGNSOYS I swapped places with my bro because I was in the center of both my brothers but one of the amp type things was in the middle of the stage and I Knew I would have a hard time boosting him up with that in the way so we swapped places...and moz went to the very right side of the stage and Moz was involved with shaking hands and his massively huge bodyguard was by him and they were both very distracted so finally I was like ok bro if your gonna do it do it NOW and I held out my hands and boosted him up and he went over to Moz and then my other bro jumped up too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was like YESSSSSS yayayaya! It was awesome but my 17 yr old bro tapped morrissey on the shoulder moz turned to him and he shook his hand and then my other bro shook his hand and then I motioned for them to just jump back down and so did morrisseys body guard then after they got up there is when everyone else stared to do it so they were all like yeah we started it LOL and I thought everyone was just gonna rush the stage but it didn't get AS wild as I thought I think there was like a few more ppl from our side that jumped up there one guy who was a big moz fan that was wearing a british flag jacket thing got the knock down from moz's bodyguard and then this lady in a black dress type outfit grabbed moz's hand and he pulled her up on stage and she hugged him and then she just jumped back down and then one of the girls with that guy that was behind us waiting in line got up and hugged morrissey and then the little 8 yr old girl got up there and I was SOOOOOOO happy for her!!!! She will probably never forget that. She did seem like a daddies little girl too which is adorable and I know what thats like because I too am a daddies lil girl. But when she went on stage she held onto Moz and Moz kinda danced around almost acted like he was gonna take her and then very politely handed her back to her family...it was sooo awesome! We were all excited after the show. Me and my brothers went over to their group and I gave them a thumbs up and smiles I was sooo happy for them. They deserved that. It meant alot for the little girl and her dad. :D What an awesome thing to have been a part of.:D But after cheering for them and stuff we departed the venue. Then some snotty blonde chick came up to my 17 yr old bro and was like Hay do you even know any morrissey songs and thus said what you actually do you look like your 12 yrs old...we were like wtf lady? It was weird. I hate the older moz fans that think moz is just for them...Morrissey needs new younger fans to keep his name going...but anyways...
It was an amazing nite and my brothers are still excited and high from it all!
Some other hightlights was the National Front Disco...I love that song and Boz really gets into it.:D At one point he did the guitar balancing thing on his hand. Boz is just classy and cool. The bassist and drummer are brothers, that is neat. At one point the bassist came over by us and I had my hand on the stage and he stepped on my hand LOL I couldnt see though 1. because of my stupid missing contact lens and 2. I was looking at him and not my hand...hehe but I pulled it from under him quick. I thought it was cool how each band member had their own little solo no one was really too much more in the limelight than the other...when they came out for the encore they all took a line bow together..they were all very classy. I dig the new band lineup very fresh and cool. I do must say I miss Gary for all his rockabilly bad boy coolness. But otherwise I like Jesse alot. I am kinda kicking myself in the ass for not getting up there on stage but I am just glad my brothers did and plus not only did I have a dress on which would of made things difficult but I was missing a contact lens which would of hindered my walking/climbing abilities so its probably a good thing I just cheered everyone else on:D hehe Plus I am just happy I gave Moz the card I got him.
Moz did say one of his heros came from Lincoln NE..and wanted us to guess who and someone saied Oscar Wilde lol but he went to Julia and asked her if she knew and handed her the mic but I couldnt really make out what she said..but I guess it was David Cavett....from the tv show or something...
He introduced the band very cool like...
but yeah hardly no security...just 2 guards and they were on the stage on the left and right hand side...so it could of gotten out of hand but I am glad everyone waited till the last song to get crazy cuz otherwise it just ruins the exp for everyone if it would of gotten too crazy...cuz after Moz held the little girl he took his shirt off and threw it to the crowd and then scrurried off stage, I am sure he not only did that cuz thats what he does but also to distract from him so he could leave.
I had the best time though. Morrissey is one of a kind. Such a goodhearted humble man. You can just see the caring nice guy he is when your there in that front row. But I just want to say it was awesome getting a chance to meet you and your family to that group that we chatted with throughout the day...you guys were such nice people. And once againg I am sooo happy for your little girl getting to get up there she will probably never forget that. :D
But...I probably wrote alot more than I should have...but I had to get this all out of my head before I forget and the memories are gone:( well not entirely gone but slowly start to fade as time ticks on...

On a personal note:
One of my old boyfriends who got me into Morrissey and whom broke my heart was AT the concert!! Oh how good he looked..:( and he chose such an ugly fat girl over me. I guess the song Your the One For Me Fatty rings true for him:(
But it was ironic kinda for me that he was there...the whole story about him is sooo crazy and weird I am not even gonna go there...must save that for another time.

What a brilliant report. Thanks.

It's lovely to hear how friendly the people were and your writing brought it alive for me.

There's been some debate about stage invaders here, but I think if people are gentle and don't rush all at once then M really likes it.
