I left the North, I travelled South.... Hello! lou, 30, living in North London with the luscious Rallen, but originally from the North West. A girl with a thorn in my side, my main loves are good food, fine wine, BDSM and cats. Semi-retired from Moz-solo, I check in occasionally to check the journals of good friends. Not drowning anymore...

Come back to Camden

04:17 PM

4 days off woo hoo! Really needed this break after the last few weeks. Started well with a lie-in and an egg, bacon and cheese bap prepared by my luscious boyfriend. We then strolled to the pub for the Arsenal v Liverpool match which of course ended in inevitable defeat, but was a damn fine match nevertheless. I just get so annoyed by gunners fans, they're so vulgar. We lead twice, and they were SO quiet. As soon as they went ahead they were chanting and stuff, I have no idea how I managed to resist the temptation to stand up and sing 'Sing when you're winning, you only sing when you're winning....'. Would have been so funny, especially with me in my Liverpool shirt.

After that headed on down to Camden Town which is a mile from where we live, and I was on full Moz alert. Even had a drink in the Good Mixer (SHITE PUB ALERT) which was full of tossers and the biggest shithole going. On the plus side we found a lovely pub, the Goose and Ring I think it was called, and I made some purchases. I got a Hello Kitty shopping bag with pink flowers on, a brown silk shoulder bag with flowers, and a gorgeous khaki satin evening bag. Bagtastic! I didn't mean to buy any bags at all, it just happened that way! What I did want was a sheer top with long sleeves to wear under my pvc underbust corset, but in all the fascist goth shops Large is classed as a size 14. Like, what the fuck? I'll have to check out Torrid.com.

Anyway after the nice pub we walked over to Regent's Park. It is so stunningly beautiful, I couldn't believe it. We spent a good hour or two strolling amongst the beautiful flower beds, amazing trees and the gorgeous lake. It really is so special. I felt cleansed almost straight away. I'm actually from the countryside originally and used to get away from my hideous family by taking my golden retriever Cindy for a walk down in the fields. I used to look at the hills and the sky and dream of the time I'd leave them and find some happiness in my life. Anyway the greenery and the wonderful smells and the fresh air brought it all back in a very vivid way. Rallen and I talked about all sorts of stuff on our walk, which was all at once very enlightening, cleansing and a little sad. Overall though it just did me so much good, it was wonderful and I feel a lot closer to Rallen because of it.

In other news, I'm trying to get Jonathan Ross tickets - wish me luck! I'm also waiting for the Meltdown tickets to come on sale - how lucky am I to live in London?!

  • very lucky indeed to live in london, particularly because you can get a fast train to Reading two weeks tonight (april 23rd) for the Smiths night! Are you planning on coming along? It'll be a cracking night, and a lot of the moz solo characters from the london area are coming. Was also speaking to Elina who lives near Reading and she asked me to make sure I try and get you to make the journey!

  • nerdy as hell(or maybe it's just another of my americanisms?), but I'm hoping that pvc, as in your corset, doesn't stand for polyvinyl chloride. Nasty stuff, girlie...most definitely not the kind we would savor...heheh...

Fascist goth...lol...at first I couldn't picture this as so many of those I've known have such low self-esteem. Then I think of how clannish they can be - one has to have "the (fucking) look" as far as clothes, hair, at least one cut-up arm, and all that other crap concerned with the subculture to even be down with those fools. That is a definite form of fascism to me...scenesters..."if you want to be our friend you have to look just like us and drink our blood in ceremony"...nevertheless i dig the clubs and understand the deep self-inflicted depression, so it's all good.

About the shops and their ridiculous sizings....fuck those fools...I've seen a couple of your pics and like I've told you - you are ALL woman...and hell, any person in tune with reality knows that a real lover of women (whether male or female) likes some meat on the bones...something to hold on to, to watch jiggle...not some fucking twig that's all pointy and shit...ain't sayin' that skinny minnies don't deserve no love but you get where I'm coming from...

On that note, glad things are wonderful with you and Rallen...take care.

    :-P

Some say it's a fine line between being an "intellectual" and intellectual posturing, I say there is no line at all
  • Fucking Gooners, still fair play to them, they completely out played Liverpool today, was not pretty to watch the second half :( Quote a text message from filthy scum fan: "you scouse bastards are useless" :@ oh well...

  • Great Austin Power-ish word! LOL, and Torrid.com - very funny!!

I usually shop alone - I am 1 of those perusers who likes to take their time - but I find I shop in *pairs* when I'm making a purchase. Last week, I was on a mild alert for particular umbrellas...I found *both* in 1 day, the shops right across from one another. Don't you just love when that happens?!

How long have you and Rallen lived in London?
Do you go to Portobello Road often?! I've made some killing finds there. Rallen probably knows to look there for his military (fetish?!) togs, eh?! As a Mod back in the late 1970's, I had a parka, and some badges/medals on it; and of course the Spit-fire white turtle-neck...talk about looking "ace" (mod vernacular, indeed!)!
