I left the North, I travelled South.... Hello! lou, 30, living in North London with the luscious Rallen, but originally from the North West. A girl with a thorn in my side, my main loves are good food, fine wine, BDSM and cats. Semi-retired from Moz-solo, I check in occasionally to check the journals of good friends. Not drowning anymore...

Well today was the day. I handed it in, my final submission, the document that will make or break my career. If I fail this not only do I get sacked but I also lose my professional qualification, and the last six years is wasted. This thing has given me sleepness nights, anxiety attacks, self doubt and a constant sick feeling for the last 3 months. 3 MONTHS. It's been a nightmare for me, but you all know this.

So how do I feel? Drained. Emotionally and physically. Totally shellshocked. The anxious feeling hasn't subsided yet, despite the four drinks in me.

And what did my best friend say when he saw me this evening, seeing me tired and pale and quiet? He had worked for 5 hours today, filing. He asked me if I was ok, and I told him I was emotionally and physically exhausted. His response?

a) aww you poor thing, but don't worry I'll look after you. It's all over now, you don't have to think about it anymore, all that stress is over and we'll have a lovely relaxing weekend.

b) yeah me too.

Truly disappointed.

  • I've just said it all to you already, but just to remind you:

    a) Yes! You've done it! Be proud of yourself! I'm proud of you!

    b) Pamper yourself! Buy a new shirt for your date! Drink some wine!

    c) Expectations that are not fulfileld hurt. Ugh, we've all been in this situation before. The only thing that helps is writing HUGE signs of what kind of reaction you'd like to see. Just like in good old neanderthal-days ;)

    d) keep your good humour even in situations like these, thats a gift you have!

    Much love x
