Northern Bird
(email not shown publicly)

I left the North, I travelled South.... Hello! lou, 30, living in North London with the luscious Rallen, but originally from the North West. A girl with a thorn in my side, my main loves are good food, fine wine, BDSM and cats. Semi-retired from Moz-solo, I check in occasionally to check the journals of good friends. Not drowning anymore...

Motherhood is the last refuge of the bored.

  • Laura and I were watching some little kids run after their mother a few days ago, and she said, "people want to have kids because they're cute." I said, "no, people want to have kids because it gives them something to love." We agreed that the people who are driven to have kids are the ones that probably shouldn't be having them!

Motherhood - it doesn't appeal to me at all. I often ask myself, could I rise to the occasion and actually be a good mother if I *had* to? I'd try to do my best, but I can see myself replicating my mother's mistakes and raising a miserable, misfit child. Or it would be awful to have the kind of kid that wanted to be like everyone else and was totally conventional. Gawd.

But so many women feel incomplete without kids.

And me and my heart, we knew...we just knew...forevermore...
  • Perhaps in this day and age when women have conquered the workplace they turn to home and family and the challenge it brings. They say the hardest job is motherhood.

I've never felt my womb was for breeding but a curse to carry till I'm 50. I have absolutely no desire to procreate. I smother my cats and every one I've ever had I've made them neurotic. I'd hate to think what I'd do to a human being ~shudders at thought~.

There are definitely a lot of people who shouldn't be parents and most of them became so for the wrong reasons. I remember watching some aft. talkshow where this 14yr old wanted a kid so she could smoke pot with it. Yeah and I'm crazy.

  • When I get out the young offenders institute, I'd like to marry a mechanic from Huddersfield, called Bob, and have ten, ugly, ginger, clinically obese children, whom will be bullied for the rest of their lives.
I'd like to work on a till in Asda, buy all my clothes from New Look*shudders* and have to leave parents evening every ten minutes so I can stand outside, smoking a richmond.
Oh and I'll wear these hideous, big, gold tacky hoop earring things, and vile slogan tee shirts.
      I'm terminally bored. :)
