Today is 8DEC. It's been a long time since I backed out on Delta flight 366 from Houston, bound for NY/LaGuardia to attend the event in Central Park. Makes me sad.

I know I write about this almost every year, but then if you'd been there, wouldn't you?

Love, Lon

that witch Karen Hughes resigned today, the last of the Austin bunch of "bushies". Good.

Let the whole bunch un-ravel.

We, and I guess I speak for most, are sick & tired of this mess.

Let her go back to Austin, the most liberal city in Texas and feel the pain.

No no no I am not bitter, just worried. I won't go into all the details but the last time I was in England I was ridiculed as a Texan...every other trip I was greeted with proud.

Well, since it's fall and I'm not doing anything special, I better get to Santa Fe and help Bill Richardson.

He seems the obvious choice.

Hello, American, I just heard you started nonstop from Dallas/Fort Worth to Santa Fe bypassing Abq? yes? ok book me. See you at DFW.

I find it hard to justify flying to London or Brussels or Frankfurt this summer. Tax (security/junk fees) equal base airfare.

The bushdollar is at all time low, so you all come over here and blow as much money as you can -- Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorfs, you know. Stay at the W in Dallas, the Driskill in Austin, the Mark in SF, the Benson in PDX (Portland ore) I like the Hyatt in Seattle, you get the drift.

Americans must try to stay at home and save USD to simply buy gasoline and food. It's amazing. But Moz is all over this summer in USA and I'll do my best to go all as much as I can. Lon

all these Supposed Morrissey fans gripe. I've seen him in:

Dallas
Atlanta (2)
Mexico City (2)
Montreal
Las Vegas
El Paso
Liverpool
PDX (oregon USA)
Okla City

I think I missed a couple but it's late.

Except for the weird setlist in Montreal all grt!
So I wonder to myself why are ppl so unhappy?

No, I'm not going that far. But at 3 bucks a gallon it's quite a haul even to Dallas/Ft Worth.

But I am headed up there anyway cause Tex is mad at me for no-show, as are my friends in Mexico City.

It ain't meant to be.

But I am on the mend and back to the travel game, where, Frankly Mr Shankly, I am at home...on the road. Lon

Well I wish I'd gone to Reno/Sparks. On Amtrak. Flying is so taxing these days and boy do I know.

But I have paper tickets in my hand for Dallas so not all is lost.

Now that's the Morrissey news.

The other news is it is so hot and humid in Texas I wish I were on Amtrak's "Empire Builder" from Chicago to Seattle/Portland (it splits at Spokane) and get off in Whitefish, Montana, check in at the Grouse Mountain Inn and breathe.

But that's a long way from me so I'll settle for less.

06:24 AM - the bird-watcher report

In Texas we have a ton of wild-life and this morning I can hear a bunch: coyotes, owls, and birds of all kinds. That'd make Morrissey happy, and it sure makes me happy things have not dried up yet.

It'll get better now that TXU (our elec/gas co.) has calmed down on building all those coal plants near me. Nature will renew and flourish here in Texas for sure.

02:48 AM - the usual Texas Weather report
[ 0 Comments ]
It finally got us, with tornados all around Fort Worth.

but that's okay, for all the hubbub, only 2 folks died, and that's 2 too many but not like the supercell in Waco in May 1953 or the one in 1985 at Irving that brought down a jumbo jet at DFW. So, I'm thankful.

Now it's on to see Morrissey in Dallas 25May. My tickets got here in the mail and we are set. Weather depending. (No we will take the Trinity Railway Expr. if nothing else!).

I have been to Washington DC about, who knows, 100 times.

But I'm not sure I like it.

Deal is, it's run by Crooks and Liars and most of them are Republicans. Well, hmm.. all of them are Republicans.

Now, I don't say this lightly.

I have a studied opinion of this.

And of course Morrissey would back me up.

that's all.
