I'm not the man you think I am...I am a poor freezingly cold soul...I have just discovered that prudence never pays. Now, we must wait for the right time

I just called to say...

05:02 AM

...I haven't been away...

Well, we got a new carpet in, which in turn totally buggered up the telephone system, hence buggering up the Internet connection. Yup. So I'm writing you this entry from the comfort of my school computer, or more accurately pasting it from my home computer to this computer to this page. Very efficient, no? I can't type any more. It's been lack of time on this computer, I tells ya.

As you can probably imagine, not a lot has happened since I last posted. I've been working, and there's still no Jacquette in my life. Or should that be Jacqueline? Incidentally, I read this article in the newspaper yesterday, saying "My days as Jack The Lad are over". It brought a wry smile to my face, thinking of how sparsely I've written in this journal of late. Quite adequate really. Actually, I never even knew a "Jack The Lad" was someone who played the field a bit - was a bit of an International Playboy, one may say. Which seems so damn ironic compared to this Jacques The Lad. Then again, I am Jacques, not Jack. I guess it's a case of close, but not quite close enough as far as I'm concerned in this life.

Anyway, enough of the ambiguities of my name. I finally got my Morrissey: Live in Dallas DVD, and I must say it's grown on me a lot. I may have a new favourite Morrissey song. Now wouldn't that be something? It's called "Mute Witness". You may have heard it before. I just love the sheer energy change Spencer Cobrin shows during the song with the drums. And Boz Boorer's face is quite the picture when he's singing. Dammit, when is Morrissey touring???

Speaking of tours, I might be going to see Ocean Colour Scene in Edinburgh. Oh yes. June 9th baby, and it'll be totally amazing. Apparently it's all seats, and apparently we're in the third row. Which is quite something. Not sure if I'm going or not, but we'll see. If it clashes with a Morrissey concert, of course...(guffaw guffaw!).

Oh, and I bought NME the other day. A full two pages devoted to The Smiths??? How very nice. Admittedly, one of them was a front cover from 1993, but still, it's the thought that counts. I've yet to read what they have to say about The Most Influential Band of the past 50 years. Ho ho!

I shall be off. Lord only knows when we'll meet again. Indeed, this might be the last ever JacquesTheLad journal entry ever. History in the making, eh? It's been nice knowing you. To all the lovers. "This is the last song I will ever sing...Goodnight, and Thank You."
