So ugly

In a moment that can be described in no word other than madness (or indeed sadness), I posted my picture on "hotornot.com". Quite why I did this, I couldn't possibly tell you - vanity seems like a fair bet - but I wasn't intoxicated nor indeed insane when I did it, I assure you. Now, I do have a link to my particular picture, but I shan't post it here, for a number of reasons:

1) I'm ashamed of it
2) I don't want you knowing who I am
3) You'd be prejudiced when you rate it

After 16 votes, I am "7.2 out of 10", which apparently means that I am "hotter" than 72% of the blokes in my age group with photos on that site. Or, alternatively, uglier than 28%. Looking at the distribution of ratings, though, shows that quite a few people have already rated me "1".

I'm away to find a brown paper bag.

  • I really enjoy reading your journal, but had to grimace when I saw that you posted to "hot or not". I've gone on the site to rate people when I am feeling bored, or especially brutal.

    It seems to me that the guys who get the 9's or 10's are the meatheads who feel the need to flex their pecs while their weenie remains flaccid in their Levi's, or the blatantly conceited frat-boy types who who date rape for fun. When I see those guys I give 'em all 1's cause they deserve 'em for being so fucking haughty.

    Your averaging a 7 or so tells me that 1 - you are not a meat-head (thank goodness!!!), and 2 -someone like you would probably be pleasing to my view.

    I am willing to wager that you are easy on the eyes. So, please don't go for the brown paper bag look :-)

    I just don't get this at all.

    I really don't understand.

    There are so many things that trouble me about this that I am having real difficulty in deciding where to start.

    Firstly this smacks of that most hideous of characteristics..."Oh, I'm so ugly" (Please God, let them tell me I am not. Please enforce my own belief that I am, in fact, "hot". PLEASE. I know I am.) You must know the type? I don't believe, or at least I didn't before I read this, that this is how you are...but who knows.

    Secondly, why in the name of all that is holy would anyone post their picture on a site that "rates" people as "hot"!

    I can't go on.

    I really cannot tell you how depressing this is.
