Spokane, WA (Feb. 1, 2000)

Opening Act?

I moseyed on down to the Met Theater on my lunch hour (it's only two blocks from the building I work in) and was pleasantly surprised to see a large truck outside of the building with many people unloading equipment into the backstage area.

So, I decided to wander into the theater itself and see what I could find out. First I spoke to a gentleman with a strong British accent who identified himself as one of the people responsible for selling merchandise (they were just setting up the tables in the lobby when I walked in). He indicated that a support band for the tour had not been secured yet and that they were hoping to pick one up for the latter part of the tour (and that Sack would not be filling that role this time around).

Next I spoke to the fellow who is mainly responsible for booking bands into the Met. He relayed to me that the promoter had told him that they would be using a local act to support for the Spokane show, although he did not know specifically who that was going to be.

Finally, I talked to the gal in the ticket window. Apparently tonight's show is nearly a sell out with only a few seats in the rear of the balcony left.

I suppose if I were a more inquisitive sort, I could have hung around and gotten some more information, but there you have it. Less than five hours until showtime now; I'm starting to get excited.
