While its perfectly reasonable to attribute the genre to the early members of Washington's HarDCore scene, it's the promise ring, through their recently new found status as media darlings, that have brought the word to the tongues of a mass audience. I was in no way trying to discredit rites, etc...

by the way, Davey was the only one in Cap'n Jazz, and sensfield are absolute @#!!!e. As much as I like Jimmy Eat World, I would hardly call the new record emo. end of discussion
