Considering I only drink on New Year's Eve, I don't see how alcohol being allowed in the theatre would've effected my opinion of the performance one way or another...

I'm also not "blaming" the people around me. I had some great conversations with them. All I'm saying is that it's hard to dance about or sing your lungs out when you're in a row of seats. I was just stumbling around for a reason why Nelson may've thought that the crowd was dead (personally, I thought they were quite animated), not saying "Boy, it sucked real hard because of the seating". Again, I was less than thrilled with some parts of the setlist, but overall it was a good show (not as good as the perfect Aragon '97 show, but still enjoyable).

Viva has it's moments, as does Bona, but they come between two such high periods that it's very easy to overlook them. Especially Bona, which is an exceedingly weak little hodgepodge IMO (I think there's maybe three or four songs on there- excluding some of the Viva Hate tracks- that I truly enjoy). I guess maybe they're not all that bad, but coming off of a period after The Queen is Dead (the best Smiths album IMO) and Strangeways..., then being followed by Your Arsenal and Vauxhall&I (Moz's best work of his entire professional career, IMO), they look a little poor by comparison (OK, so I'm intentionally overlooking Kill Elmo...I mean, Uncle...but wouldn't you do the same?). The other thing is that if we had to hear stuff from that period, I'd rather it would be stuff that was a little more classic, like Everyday is Like Sunday or Last of the Famous..., or at least fast-paced and somewhat exciting like I Don't Mind If Your Forget Me. Break Up The Family? God help me...
