A victim of the mosh pit...
Posted By: Genevieve <[email protected]>
Date: Thursday, Nov. 18 1999, at 12:09 a.m.Well, this was my 1st morrissey gig. I had only just been converted to the "ways of Morrissey" & realised his pure genius thanks for my boyfriend. I was excited, I was nervous, I just wanted to feel his presense.
The excitement grew as Sack came on stage, but I didn't care much for them, just for Morrissey, & knowing that he would be coming on stage, infront of me, right before my eyes.
The lights darkened, the drum solo came on, the crowd surged forward, and unfortunately all I could see were peoples heads. I was not prepared for this at all. People were pushing & shoving. During the 1st song I had to get haul out by the security & was separated from my boyfriend & another friend during the rest of the concert.
To the more experienced of Morrissey tour goers, this may just seem like I'm moaning, but it really put a dampner on the whole evening for me. I couldn't get the full effect of his stage presense & I just felt isolated & detached. I had planned to be there & listen to "Last Night I Dreamt" with my boyfriend. Instead I was in the middle of a mass of sweating people falling to the ground.
I'm sure the gig was great. But it could've been much better for me.

PS. There was one consolation. I touched Morrissey's hand!!! *big grin* His hand was freezing as well! :)
PPS. Sorry for me moaning!!
