I happened to be standing by the stage door when the band did their soundcheck. As the title of the message implies, the song was "Reader Meet Author." Although it didn't seem strange to me at the time, I mentioned to my wife that I couldn't hear the lead guitar. In hind sight, Alain was most likely never at the show, and Morrissey was listening to the way the song sounded without Alain. Just an opinion...
