Moz in Cork

Have been a fan of Morrissey's since the days of the Smiths and have waited for years to see him. He played Ireland a few years ago with David Bowie but I was unable to make it but the wait was worth it. I witnessed the concert of a lifetime to see the main man on stage. He was everything I though he should be. The venue in the Cork Opera House is seated for concerts and this is rigoursly enforced. But, when Moz came out on stage there was a huge rush towards the stage and everyone was on their feet and remained so for the duration of the gig. For someone who has on the go for a while now, Moz has lost none of his energy or ability. He has us enthralled right from the beginning. Highlights were Hairdresser on Fire, Meat is Murder, Speedway and of course a special rendention of Roy's Keen (suitably attired in an Irish Soccer jersey).

Don't know if I was at the same gig as some of the reviewers but if Moz just stood on stage I would have been happy. I thought the crowd was great and yeah the security in the venue sucks but make the effort. Moz is still up there and the sooner he brings out another album the better.
