he was sinister and played the part cool & evil, he didn't care about anything as long as he got his money.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

Hmm, it'll be fun to compare his acting to his part in "Mord kommisionen":D.

i'll have to look out for that film do you know the english title.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

Last night I went to see Paolo Sorrentino's new film "Family Friend" as a part of Italian Film Festival. The film was re-edited after showing Cannes in May, but they haven't managed to transfer to 35mm yet, this screening was done by Betamax video format.
Later my friend who works at the cinema said to me that there's some argument with the distributer and the screening arrangement.
Sorrentino seemed really tired and I missed the opportunity to ask his autograph...I'm bit unlucky with Italian directors. I still regret not make an effort to meet Fellini in 91 in Tokyo and I was very close to Francesco Rosi last year, but decided not to bother him:(

It's a similar mode of Sorrentino's previous film "Consequences of Love". Geremia, a middle-aged loan shark who is infatuated with Rosalba who happens to be one of his borrowers' daughter.

After screenig we had a Q&A session with the director. One of the snippets of the film is that Giacomo Rizzo who plays Geremia was very anxious to distingush between the character and himself, at one point Sorrentino was given a gold bracelet by him. What a generous guy.
Sorrentino also said that it took time to convince Laura Chiatti who plays Rosalba to accept the role.

I highly recommend "Consequences of Love" if you haven't watched it yet.
"Family Friend" will be released in April 2007 in UK. :)

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

^^^ kewpie thank you for your reviews^^^

Auto focus (Paul Schrader)

Greg Kinnear amazing in this film as Bob Crane the star of 60s comedy show ‘Hogan’s Heroes’. Bob Crane's descent into moral madness can be seen as shocking, especially when juxtaposed with the family entertaining Hogan's Heroes. As he and his friend (William defoe) use the early video taping machines to record their sexual adventures with fans or groupies; which was his down fall in the end and his murder by his jealous friend.
You kind of feel sorry for him as fame and technology cause his lack of moral judgement and hedonism; as he was once such a family guy!
The look of the film is excellent too with the clothes and the mise en scene, of the late sixties.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

Have you read the rant of the son of Bob Crane on imdb?
If you haven't I strongly recommend you to check it!
It's one of the most surreal and very funny thing I've ever come across from internet.:D

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

just watched a strange film called The Hills have Eyes, it's a remake from some 70s horror film (I thought it was better then that one which is rare). quite liked it really, not many films have a narrative about a family of mutant cannibals, living in the old atomic bomb testing grounds of the USA, high-jacking the more traditional "nuclear" ha, family to feed on, murder and rape. not one for the family at Xmas, but if want a fairly scary movie where you can cheer the family dog and lead male, while they rescue family members, then this may be it.
woh i watch some classy movies!

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

Saw Take The Money And Run yesterday. First Woody Allen film I've ever seen, and I quite liked it. :)

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

Best in show. I watched it earlier today, it's hilarious.

The genius Christopher Guest directs and stars in a mockumentary about dog shows.

Just awesome.

I ordered the Christopher Guest collection on dvd for about £11 from Play.com. t's got Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show and A mighty wind.

I've watched Waiting for Guffman and Best in show and just have A mighty wind left. I'll let you know when I've watched it.

The bit in Best in show where the hostage negotiator tries to talk his son down from the garden shed roof by saying "Get down here or I will gouge out your left eye with my thumb, I shit you not you crazy freak" actually made me cry laughing.

Re: tell us about the last Film you saw.

I just got back from NFT, watched Jan Svankmajer's "Alice".
It's wickedly weird film, brilliantly convined live action and animation.
I've watched Svankmajer's latest film "Lunacy" during the London Film Festival last month, it will be released in UK sometime in next year.
